What's the dilly with Chambers?

He looks rubbish.

Steve Bruce confirmed that Arsenal are looking for someone to take CJ on loan.
Chambers is not costing £16m.
Josh Stones? Everton do not sell cheap. Would have cost far more, and no indication he wants to leave.

I can't help but think Jenks' days may be numbered. Even if he gets a season on loan I can't see him becoming first choice ahead of Debuchy and long-term ahead of Chambers (unless Chambers really can play CB just as well, I have no idea). Not to mention Bellerin who has always been very highly rated by the youth coaches.

If Arsene thought Jenks had a chance of being good enough then knowing him he would have at least made him 2nd choice this season (some were speculating that he would be first choice after Sagna went!)

Shame cos he's a Gooner and all, but I suppose sentimentalism doesn't really get you anywhere at the end of the day.

Agree. At 22 Jenks could no longer be described as a 'prospect' however he has never had the opportunity to play a full season in the PL.

IMO a loan move to Swansea would be good for him in light of their passing game.

John, I think you will find.

Debuchy is 29, and a lot of reports are suggesting that Chambers will, in the long-term, be converted into a CB or a midfielder, which are supposedly more natural positions for him.

He looks like a good right-back, and I'm sure he will provide good cover whilst Jenkinson's out on loan - and will perhaps play as a 4th choice CB like Sagna - but other than aerial ability, Chambers really doesn't have anything over Jenkinson that would make him a better right-back in the long-run, IMO.

All that Jenkinson really needs to work on for me is the timing of his leaps and his heading technique. Otherwise, he is already an excellent RB, and I very much hope we don't let him go.

Debuchy is going to last 2-3 years with us, tops. Jenkinsons career with us is not ovr at all

People acting like Chambers hasn't already established himself as a good quality player in the Premier League. was getting games ahead of Clyne at RB for a lot of the season. already a good solid player and only 19 years old likely to improve and be our starting RB for years to come. Already looks better than Jenkinson.

Also Chambers is a far superior passer of the ball than Jenkinson

Jenks will be 24-25 by then. Arsenal fan or not, you think he's still going to want to be a second choice/squad player/perennial loanee until that age? I mean I suppose he could jump ahead of Debuchy but even if that takes 2 years it's quite a long time.

It just seems that if we are spending the best part of £30m on 2 players who both play in his position: one who is established and one who is younger with supposedly more potential, that it doesn't look good for the kid.

And again, for me Bellerin was starting to look like he would overtake him anyway (until he stopped getting games for Watford after Zola went).
