Carbone is taking a lot of plaudits

Benito Carbone has come in and started looking after the kids, and is receiving a lot of good plaudits from many people.

But if I remember right, this transformation of our youth team has been ongoing for a number of years.

Who was really the instigator for which Carbone is the current beneficiary?

Coach is only has good has the ability he has got to coach

Not bothered what the youth team does results wise, it's all about that one special youngster to come though ie a Delph, a Lennon.

And that has much to do with scouting, and that bit of luck to find one.

For what's it worth, don't see how anyone can judge him just yet, but do like his methods what's I've seen/ heard so far

Eddie Gray.

Eddie gray hasn't been anything to do with youth team for 15 years.

But don't see this transformation in the youth system at Elland road. Nothing changed for years and is still under funded

You don't do reading do you LIW...?

Read the OP then read my answer, then your pithy response and your question then my second answer.

Then think about what I said

If it's still too difficult for your braincell, here's the answer. I think Eddie Gray transformed our academy last, years ago, and I don't think anyone has since. That's why I said what I did.

Ask Pags, she'll understand and might, if you're a good boy, explain it to you.

Naylor was successful with the under 18 team 2 seasons back, isn't that what Carbone has inherited here?

Can't comment on his ability, too early to say. I do know he came in and made it clear that the club's footballing philosophy would be keeping the ball on the ground and that it applied to all the teams, so the one's progressing would be used to the style and system... Common sense really.

So if the youth team are getting plaudits for passing it about, and they weren't last year (if that is the case) then I guess you can attribute some of that to him... Although as I believe that the inspiration may have come from mc's desperation from watching us hoof it last year... So maybe some of the credit should go to him (heaven forbid)

But Eddie gray didn't transform it, he was given a great bunch of kids ( good scouting) and coached them well, he wasn't youth coach for that long you know.

I think Sgt Wilko was last one to be honest, He set up the youth system which was copied by other clubs and thats why O'Leary did well because of Wilko's legacy.
