Agard deal

Is now off according to Phil Hay !

posted on 15/8/14

How is applauding what Cellino is doing and has done so far, wanting the best for the club and being excited by the prospects for this season blindly following Cellino...?

Surely that's merely optimism...?

No Eric, I mean Micheal telling best that this isn't a game this is real life, and that he needs to get a grip.

That is just an example off this thread.

You have started with digs for no reason on the sign him up thread to try and get some sort of a reaction.

I don't rate Becchio, said he would never make it at Norwich was told otherwise by so many on here, have been proved right and you still mock my view?

I understand what you are saying about LIW, his language and offensiveness is poor. But to criticise him for having the decency to admit he is wrong and is pleased about the squad coming along nicely just shows your obsession for criticising him has taken over!

As for Jonty I have had more disagreements with him on here than anyone. And still do now even though we have a similar point of view. Because I think he cares about nothing else other than trying to prove others wrong.

I am not interested in creating sides in the playground like you and others have been. It's embarrassing.

By changing their minds I mean it's funny how one day signing Agard is proof we mean business and are going to do well under Cellino, then the next day not signing him is proof that we are a club that is moving forward and won't be held ransom by players. Somehow both opposite outcomes were equally positive for Cellino?

I am not saying that neither statement could be true. I just think it's odd to have such an automatic change of heart with no information other than Cellino wouldn't offer Agard as much as he wanted. If Agard was asking for too much then he has done the right thing. But we do not know that! And say he goes on to sign for Bristol, we can assume they dont have a huge budget? And in that case will any of you wonder why we weren't able to complete the transfer of a signing that was so important when Bristol with there budget and level of ambition and size of club were able to? Or will you still not be able to wonder even a little bit what actually happened?

I don't know what happened. Not going to pretend to I don't need to. But the digs and comments Best got for example on here when if you read through he did nothing but put forward a different point of view must be embarrassing for the keyboard warrior!

Maybe you should stop worrying so much about protecting cheeries and your little war against the drearies and just take people on their own merit.

HFL apologies for delay in reply, been out enjoying myself.

Re the LIW comment, I am not criticising him here, I am criticising you, if you read my comment again you'll see that. I am actually acknowledging his shift of position, that is not a criticism of him.

Do you think the sign him up thread was a serious thread...? I don't hence my comment, and sadly I actually think there would be comments to that effect were we to buy some foreign footballer merely because he had one good game. I took it to be a bit of mirth by the OP, if you don't good for you. I never took you for a critic of other folks attempts at humour. Oh and for your information I didn't put it to elicit a reaction, I reckon folk can say what they want.

It is not your view re Becchio that I mock by the way, I don't recall you actually saying he couldn't trap a ball. If you did, I am not aware and it was not intended as a dig at you. So for that, I apologise.

As for Jonty he's big enough and ugly enough to look after himself, he's so brave being able to abuse people from behind his filter. I have no interest in what you feel about him, it doesn't and won't alter my view of him or his method of debate (or lack of debate for that matter). He knows how he can alter what people say or think about him, the ball is in his court. And I have taken him on merit.

Re Massimo Cellino and Agard, to be honest I am not surprised that it fell through, whether that is temporary or fatal I have no idea. I am on record on these boards on saying we should be paying the true value of a player, but I also believe it is down to MC to take on that task and act how he sees fit, he's in charge of the purse strings. I think Agard would be a good buy, I have no idea why it went awry.

I am sure Best is grown up enough to deal with anyone he feels is having a dig at him.

Finally re your suggestion about michael..., please re read my comment. I do not mention him, I merely ask you questions, after comments made by you. that's me questioning points you made. My second comment also relates to a comment you made where you accuse folk of blindly following Massimo Cellino.

No problem at all Eric!

Re LIW change of opinion compared to the change of opinion I am talking about; LIW changed his opinion based on circumstances that happened. this change of opinion meant he was wrong before and wasn't done for self righeousness. I dont think people are blindly following Cellino. But I do think that people are twisting their views so that either outcome is a positive. Because too many people on here refuse to be wrong. That is Jontys biggest trick in his book. And it seems to be a technique spreading through the board.

Of your second paragraph your first defence is well they would do it too. Which is back to being immature! If thats humour then fair enough. but I have all too often seen comments like that turn into insults. and I think it is getting boring! I don't though for one second think you are the major cause of this.

I don't think he can trap a ball, and no need to apologise. I am more bothered about issues that cause dispute being constantly regurgitated for the sake of it over and over again. Which is bringing this board down.

I think we have exactly the same views on Jonty.

Your view on the Agard deal there makes perfect sense.

As for best I am sure he is, I ahve not started this conversation to protect him. I have no idea who he is! I have started this because of my frustration at the decline of this board in general!!!

About Micheal, no you didnt mention him, you asked me who I meant, so surely I had to answer?

I think I have covred the blindly following comment in my LIW paragraph

Cheers, I don't think I am either

I find this part of your last comment most interesting

"I have started this because of my frustration at the decline of this board in general!!!"

I see what you are saying and to a point I would agree. However, I actually feel that the cause of the malaise lays more at the feet of certain parties that spread misery, and do so as though it is their role in life, as opposed to those who come on here to debate, banter and communicate with fellow fans.

I have said before, how many times do we need to be told that someone doesn't like Mr Cellino and thinks he's a naughty boy...?

How many times do we need to be reminded that certain parties aren't happy with Mr Hockaday as our coach...? (Todays result may start to turn that tide hopefully)

We all have our views, you, me, Jonty, LIW, Michael or whoever perhaps those that are abusive may like to recognise that fact and respond accordingly. That is not saying one, two or any are right or wrong, it's saying everyone has an opinion.

The other thing is this, if you (and by that I mean anyone, not you personally) are asked a question, answer it, don't just blank the questioner, because you don't like the answer.

Oh and I don't think your views on anyone are the same as mine, particularly not where one or two are concerned, I don't think you're that malicious..!!

That looks like a good comment to end on Eric, made me laugh!

I understand and agree with everything you have said there.

I wasn't laying blame totally one side here, I think it is unfortunate that this was just the time I lost patience.

I am glad we discussed and said our bit and came to an understanding though.

Cheers!
