Leeds Utd v Middlesbough Matchday Thread

Welcome to the first Home (League) Game of the Season
Let's hope we can get our "home" record off to a flyer, although as with last week it's a big ask to expect the new lads to have settled in , but football is football no matter what country it's played in so hopefully we'll see a performance tomorrow that will get us buzzing .

Sky Bet Championship
Venue: Elland Road Date: Saturday, 16 August Kick-off: 12:15 BST

Team News
Leeds
Debuts could be on the cards for Billy Sharp and Liam Cooper, but unfortunately Bellusci is awaiting clearance and Berardi is suspended , I expect to see Sam Byram Rudy Austin and Sylvestri back in the team after missing Tues night.

Boro
Kenneth Omeruo looks set to start for Boro, which could mean Woodgate dropping to the bench. New signings Adam Clayton and Damia Abella also look set to feature .

And obviously Live on Sky Sports

Right, a much harder game than Millwall I think, but at Elland Road with the crowd behind them the lads might just be able to nick this one, it all depends on whether they can get it together on the day.............I'm going 2-0 on this one Doukara and Sharp (Bloody Brilliant if it Happens )

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

I thought he did OK but is still probably our weakest link this season. You never know though - some good Hock coaching might change that

I like him but he does seem a little limited with his distribution. I wouldn't get rid though. He can do a job for us.

I liked the way Billy showed off his torso to the fans as if to say... "Take a look at this body, fit or what"

Austin did ok in the 2and half, but was lethargic in the first. He kept Tomlin so quiet in the 2and half Boro had to Sub him. He may not he Yaya but he is good at breaking up play.

If u recorded the game , watch the 2and half and watch him keep Tomlin out the game. He does need competition.

You also have to remember that like any anchor man, he needs movement ahead of him, because as u saw he was often winning the ball then faced with a wall of high sitting defenders and no1 running behind.

He made at least 3 crucial tackles in that game, outpaced Adomah!!

Not as bad as folk are saying, but also not a world beater. (That brum game aside)

Great 3 points for the lads and the Hockster today. Lots still to work on, but we are on the up.

With Wolves getting an easy win at Rotherham, we're gonna have to put up with that Pundit kid again tonight though.

Austin can put in the tackle and break up the opponent's play but not much help when his distribution results in the ball being given away.

It's good the linesman saw what nobody else saw, as much as it hurts to say but their's was a brilliant goal!..

Oh well, no doubt something will even that out before the end of the season!..
