We are signing Angel Di Maria for around £85m millions euros and I can honestly see it being the bargain of the Century. Why you ask? Here are 7 reasons:
1. We really needed to replace Rio/Vidic and spending big was the only option, and Van Gaal has done just that.
2. Di Maria is tall and quick, 2 of the main qualities needed in any centre back. So Van Gaal was right to spend big on him.
3. He averages around 5 goals a season (about the same as Vidic), pretty average for a centre back, but shows he is not going to venture forward too much, an important quality of top centre backs.
4. He is left footed. Since being left footed was invented in the mid 90s, not many centre backs have been skillful enough to be naturally left footed. This is worth £40m alone
5. We now don't need to worry about playing someone at centre back who isn't really a centre back, like when we play Phil Jones there. He can FINALLY go back to playing the position we all know he is best at, whatever it is.
6. He looks like one of the rats from Chicken Run. Here is a picture:

To conclude, I am so glad Van Gaal has finally spent big to get what we really needed, a tall, strong centre back to replace Rio/Vidic.

Seeing your other hilarious comment I look on your profile and see this. Di Maria now got 3 world class goals while vidic gives away pens and gets sent off for Inter Milan I used to watch Real Madrid a lot and if he wasn't asked to supply he would have got 20 goals a season at least at Real Madrid instead of tons of assists.

ADM has been a bit better than expected, not bargain of the century.... But compared to a lot of big buys I think he's proving himself to be good value for the money so far.

TBH of the £30M plus buys in the premiership he still beats a fair few of them...
In fairness though that is a lot more to do with them doing terribly than ADM being great.
