The sign of things to come...?

............................................................
............................................................

According to this we've already been re-buffed by Zola

It will be interesting to see who will take the job on...!

"...Massimo Cellino is said to want a boss with more experience this time around after his experiment with trying the unproven Hockaday proved to be a failure..."

Ain't surprised, simply reporting an article that appeared 6 hours ago.

I am certainly not surprised he doesn't get on with Massimo Cellino.

Do you see this as a bit of a negative against Cellino Eric?

HFL

I see the whole Hockaday issue as a negative against Leeds United, more than I see it as a negative against Massimo Cellino. I don't think he employed him to win favour with anyone, I actually think he thought he was doing the right thing and it was a risk (he calls it an experiment) he was happy to take. But I would also add that hindsight is great and if the experiment had worked we'd have all been happy (well probably not all but you get my drift)

I think he was naïve in his understanding on the quality of The Championship, but I see him as a man who learns quickly and believe he now realises where he went wrong.

The decision regarding our next coach is the one that will be the telling one. Get that wrong and I would see it as a negative against Cellino.

I think the article regarding Zola, as pro says, is an issue that has been raised before. I don't think missing out on Zola is necessarily that big a deal. I would think, if we get turned down by a number, that then it would be seen as a negative against Massimo Cellino and his interaction with others if the reason was the same.

We don't always get with everyone on do we.......?

I have always said I was perplexed by the appointment of David Hockaday, I just think he deserved supporting and not undermining at every turn like some favoured. IMO it was not a job he could turn down when it was offered. Ok he punched above his weight, but there's been a number of them over the years. We've had our fair helping.

I would like to see a coach (or manager) come in and be given at the very least to the end of this season to blend this squad into a team and then to progress with it into next season.

I still think we can do well this season.

Massimo Cellino is the one putting a timescale on issues of promotion not us. He'll not get there if he doesn't let his next coach coach.

However I still see Massimo Cellino as a good thing for Leeds United and I think he's brought some interesting players in. The icing on the cake could be here this week. There are more positives IMO than there are negatives.

I don't expect everyone will agree. I'll live with it.

If Cellino saw something in him and believed he was the man for the job, he should stick to his guns, and was right to appoint him. The only problem is he got it so wrong maybe he doesn't know what he is doing?

Do we have any evidence to suggest he is a quick learner though? Lets hope he is but I don't have any reason to think he will be.

The next coach will probably give a big indication like you say.

Completely agree, and if this is a one off then so be it.

The only slant I will add to your comment is that there is a reasonable chance that more will follow suit unfortunately. As Cellino does not appear to be the easiest of blokes to work under

Completely agree again, why the hell would Hockaday turn it down?!?! If I was offered any top job, there is no way i would reject it saying actually I believe I am under qualified. Never mind manager of Leeds Utd!

That's all a matter of opinion, and although I am obviously rather less optimistic. I hope you're right!!!

If this is right HFL I would suggest he's learnt a great deal in a short period of time.

Look at the article then cast your vote on the poll

I would be happy with him, would you...?

Its all very well the boss playing manager, but managers bring in coaches to help them out, they respect them and back them the best they can, or at least that's how its meant to work!..

The Bossmanager, you only have to look at his last club and ask how many right choices did he have in what must be one of the hottest seats in world football!..

Right choices are people that want to do things the way they want to do it,(in football that's more then likely the best way to do it!)but when you have someone pulling you apart and telling you which players you will work with, how many right choices will this club have?..

Stability is something this club hasn't had for a long long time, it seems to be something this club is allergic to!.

Right choices, I wouldn't like to work for the club I love, not with someone like this bod in charge!..

Rumour has it,

Zola rejected the offer cos Gorgan couldn't be his assistant.

Good comments Eccers,

as usual, written with common sense, understanding , coloured with realistic undertones and flavoured with home truths.

Cellino has said he'd like promotion within 2 years, that gives him 1 year to get a good team and coach together, and 1 year to kick R's and get promoted.

He also said if he makes a mistake he will rectify it asp, which he has done, and is doing.

First time in English football, he's going to learn, more so, he has to learn if he's going to stand by his word and make happen what he wants for LUFC.

So far he's doing everything right, stabilising the club, pointing the ship in right direction, sailing it towards his goals, bringing in better players, standing by his word and, prepared to stand up to the powers that be.

Hockaday was a hiccup, a storm in a port so to speak; even Mother Nature has had hiccups.

Cellino seems to be someone who is quite happy to step outside the box; as the saying goes, we succeed by making mistakes, or, you don't stand out in a crowd by blending in.

Cellino seems to shoot from the hip, failure does not seem to be in his vocabulary.

whatever tactics he uses to achieve success for LUFC will not matter one little bit when that success is achieved for LUFC.

Then, he needs to make that success continually successful.

Cellino is good for Leeds, he'll make a few mistakes along the way but ultimately he's making progress.

It's funny how some others cannot see that isn't it..?

I find it a bit rich when it's a buffoon calling someone an idiot, still orders are orders...!

But always remember opinions are there to be aired.
