Official: Welbeck Signs

I can see the similarities between Welbeck and Sturridge but at least Sturridge was a good finisher and clinical when he had his chances. The problem with Welbeck is he can't finish and needs numerous chances before he gets one. Still remember his one v one vs Bayern

Don't know, maybe I'm alone in rating welbeck but if e can gain some confidence in front of goal (easier said than done), I genuinely believe he can do a Sturridge and become a top pl striker

Sturridge had the potential. Scored a bucket load for Bolton.

We'll see with Welbeck, the Arsenal midfield will certainly give him chances.

It would not suprise me if he does relatively well but he won't ever be an answer, you will still have to buy a world class striker to compete for the title. But top 4 is very much in your hands.

Hmmm, I think if he does relatively well and players like Walcott, Sanchex, Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Ox hit the heights they're capable of, then that will be enough for a genuine title challenge.

OMG you are such an idiot.

You can't seriously be happy about signing Welbeck? United sold him because he's not good enough and you're in need of a world class striker.

United sign Falcao and Arsenal get Welbeck, who I think we could probably have signed if we wanted so I'm really surprised by this. Decent player and I'd be happy but I can't see him being your answer.

You are not alone there, I think so too...

It is an 'if' but if he does improve similarly to Sturridge he would be a better all round striker than Sturridge but Sturridge will be the better (or more prolific) goal scorer.

Our current no.1 striker has 0 in 18 so 29 goals doesn't seem that bad anymore
