Mata has been overlooked simply because everybody seems to think LVG's love for RVP means RVP will definitely start.

This simply isn't true. If anyone questions whether LVG has the balls to drop RVP for the sake of the team, they clearly don't know the man

Having said that, based on early season form, neither Mata or RVP even deserve to start as both has been annoymous at best in the opening 3 games.

I think this spells the end for LVG's 352 formation then? Surely right? I mean we are now left sign just 4 recognised CBs and Blackett which is barely enough cover for a 2CB system never mind 3

This is good news IMO. 41212 will hopefully be the formation he opts for. I don't see any other way given the attacking players we will have after signing falcao.

RVp Rooney and falcao will fight for 2 spots up front. Mata and januzaj will fight for the number 10 spot. Do Maria will play the LCM role he played for at real last season

Blind can play CB too, we have 6, we will still use 3 at the back.

With Adnan and ADM, we have the option of playing with proper wingers again, or at the very least using them as the wide men in a diamond. If Rafa and Shaw come around anytime soon, playing with width like the "good 'ol days" is an exciting option. My hope is that Blind is the goods as a Mid and perhaps Herrera bulks up a bit, as IMO he was being bullied off the ball too much for my comfort.

It is only fair considering the damage Rooney's wage would have caused in the first instance.

In his defence, he did say he wanted the club to make quality signings

Rooney earns more than enough, thanks.

If he wants more money then he needs to become a better player.

Falcao is only a loan signing so I doubt anyone could care less what he earns anyway. If he ain't worth his wages then we give him back to Monaco. Simple.
