Getting the head coach job.
What do people think? There are pro's and cons, but at the end of the day, we need someone with experience of getting new teams gelled and playing to their strengths.
Redders will have the players on side and knows what the likes of Lewis Cook are capable of, which might be why Cellino is leaning towards him.
The other issue for me is the academy, sure we can get someone else in, but he's done a great job so far, look how many youth players are coming through and not if, but when he is sacked as first team coach, we lose a great academy manager too.
Of the top runners
Only Clarke & Sannino appeal to me.
Talk of Redfern

Really !!!!!!
Shut down thorp arch for 4 weeks and been huge cut backs there
---------------------------------------------------
That's right he's invested heavily this summer in 30+ year old journeymen and told the coach not to select any of the academy players for the 1st team.
Shutting down the training facilities for 4 weeks was hardly Armageddon for the club ..........
The evidence suggests that he's very much focussed on a younger squad - and if he's the miser you seem to portray, why wouldn't he want to save money by developing young talent instead of buying in players all the time?
Bet Cook and Mowatt are on a fraction each week compared to more "established" players ............

Maybe he's allowing for two red cards per game.

hahaha
I think he meant that 80% of the new signings came from Italian clubs or something because aside from the 5 above...
Berardi, Switzerland
Ajose, England
Doukara, Senegal
Sharp, England
Benedicic, Slovenia
Cooper, Scotland
Sloth, Denmark
Adryan, Brazil
Montenegro, Paraguay

Your missing the point completely
Am not saying he isn't trying to get a younger team. Am saying the youth side isn't the highest priority this summer
We've signed 15 players !!!!!!!!!!!
Am not even having at cellino, you've taken it that way.
So you agree with BL, that cellino highest priority is the youth side !!!!

No way is Cellino seeing the youth setup as his modus operandi. He has given us a younger side, a hungrier side, but the squad also has 3 players who either saw a prolific last season or have scoring credentials. Imo his main priority is clearly a dark horse run for promotion.

Agree with michael.
Cellino is ambitious. He will want to get promotion ASAP.
Problem is the coaching issue will always hold us back from achieving big things.

Dont think Redfearns the right choice.
Another unproven manager. How many we going to go through this season?
Do people forgot that when he incharge post Warnock, we didnt do great. One win and a decent job with the academy shouldnt gift him the job.

As far as I'm aware he only took charge of the defeat at Charlton post Warnock, however, after Grayson he got a 3-0 win at 9 man Bristol C (was 1-0.......11v11), lost at home to Brighton, lost at bottom club Cov and by the sounds of it was helped out at ht by Warnock in his last game when struggling against Donny.
So not exactly confident either!

Ah yeah, it was post Grayson, couldn't remember which one.
SKB, his record isn't great!
