Predictions Contest

OK folks,

Here's a quick precitions contest for some of this weeks games randomly selected by me. Its 1 point for the right outcome - e.g. Leinster win, 1 for being within +/- 5 points of the margin, 1 for being the closest to the correct result and a further 1 if you get all the outcomes right

The "analysis" is designed to be quick rather than detailed still less so accurate so feel free to contribute your own

Northampton Vs Gloucester
The first game of the season with the title winning Saints against an almost totally overhauled Gloucester, will the Saints rest on their laurels or march on? My gut feel is that this will be closer than people expect as first day games often are, but that Northampton's greater cohesiveness will see them past Glaws who migth prove themselves useful later on as tehy start to gel

Australia - South Africa
Can't say I know much in detail here but with the Wallabies seemingly improving and at home I think this could be a very good close game, I think the Boks will just about have enough power to overcome the Wallabies, but not by much
South Africa by 2

Glasgow - Leinster
A repeat of last years final and with no O'Driscoll how will Leinster respond? I just think teh Glaswegian will to win will do it for them and I do wonder as to how strong Leinster migth be this season with a few holes starting to show up in their once mighty armoury

London Irish - Harlequins
Irish are at home, but they have been badly weakened and I think memories of a poor start to last years Heineken Cup - and league too if I remember correctly? - will ensure that Quins come out of the blocks well. It will be interesting to see how Marland Yarde does, not so much against London Irish but more generally as probably England's favoured choice at left wing
