Thoughts from last night

Mate of mine is a Bournemouth fan who was at the match.

Said that Bournemouth had chance after chance early doors and should have been 2/3 up and that Sharp missed a sitter.

You know how it is though, you don't take your chances and pay the price.

He felt Bournemouth really needed that second goal which never came, the equaliser was coming and it was end to end stuff.

Credit to Redfearn to adjusting team slightly and for subs, which second match in a row proved to be influential.

I heard that Bellusci was still wobbly defending, but his goal of course was a cracker.

Great to see Cook start again and Silvestri is turning out to be a good keeper, i was worried about his propensity to give away penalties, but right now he's doing great.

Also good that Antenucci scored, strikers live on confidence.

Which makes you wonder what happens with Sharp, its not quite working for him at the moment.

So, superb result at a ground where I thought we'd get a draw at best.

Onto Milanic. Despite Cellino saying he'd never heard of him and his club saying no approach has been made he seems to be at the forefront of things now. He has a superb record of silverware at Maribor, but one must remember its a league with 10 teams and Maribor were already the big fish in the pond. Championship is a much bigger, more demanding, intense league, but he's a proven winner in the environment he's been in.

It feels like Redfearn has done really well in his couple of games so far and one would hope that anyone coming in could build upon that and not start again from scratch.

With Sharp I saw last night that he was easy for Bournemouth defenders to handle, and was kind of lacking as a goal threat. He worked hard though and got stuck in when needing to defend. But Doukara looked a handful whenever he got on the ball.
Sharp will find himself down the pecking order if the new guy Brian Guillermo Montenegro Benítez, to give him his full name, is any good. Then Adryan is down as a striker (thought he was midfield) so if he's as good as we are hoping then we're going to be a real handful.
So Sharp will end up being a squad player but a useful one.

He'll end up further down if Morison gets game time. I think Morison is more of a handful than Sharp.

We're not talking about striking options are we?

Do we suddenly have a team, not a one man band ....... ?

Why are so many people bending over for Morison these days? Was carp when he replaced Becchio, was carp for Millwall last season (8 goals in 41 apps or something like that) and one half-decent showing in a pre-season friendly against Dundee and he's suddenly rated as a player that could be useful and a handful, I don't get it...

Don't get me wrong, if he plays, I'll support him, I'm not an idiot boo-boy, wouldn't do that to our own players, and if he performed, I'd gladly eat my words, but I personally would send him out on loan with Hunt and Murphy asap to get them off the wage bill.

Morrison did well ALL pre season. he has the ability, and in a good team, it might get the best out of him.

Excellent result last night. A credit to everyone associated with the club. To come from behind is creditable, to do so against a footballing side such as Bournemouth more so.

Most if the newbies are settling in and quickly. Bellusci on Saturday showed enough over 90 mins to give the confidence he'll be an asset to this club. It's the nature of the beast that its the clangers that get highlighted and remembered but they account for about 6 or 7 minutes. Bianchi is another who is going about his job extremely well.

Lets hope we can carry the form into Saturday. Good times ahead.

Realistic report Jonty Would have been nicer if it came from you than your mate

I've not looked and |I can't be bothered to, but where does the Sturm Graz link come from, while most people talk about Maribor? Possibly two different possibles and I'm just tired

Long, hard for me to report from a match when I'm coaching kids tennis.

Sturm Graz is the club Milanic manages.

white, I'll always praise where I think praise is due, similarly I will always raise questions where I think there are issues.
