Hello JA606'ers Just wanted everyone's take on how in light of our galactico signings how you think teams will line up against us?
We saw in the past year or so the sitting back approach worked pretty well (Fulham at OT) due to the lack of creative flair in the side managers felt it was fine to let United attack all they wanted and we just couldn't break them down. They would either be happy with the draw in most cases or catch us out in the last 10mins and end up with all 3 points.
With Mata,Di Maria,Rooney,RVP and Falcao we now have players on their night can rip anyone a new one and we are now much more creative in the middle with Herrera who actually tries a forward pass! I would assume now thinking you can just sit back against us and hope that you can keep out that forward line isn't a very good idea? We should be able to break down and smash the doors in against 90% of teams.
Do you expect teams to attack us more trying to get at our "shakey" defence? Or try and get the most out of set plays against us? I think the lower sides would be brave to try and attack us seeing as we will hopefully just outscore them but I am still worried about the Sunderland/Stoke type of approach and the threat from set pieces as our defence seems very weak against big tall teams.

Those temas have all played each other and are last years top sides though VC. It's not Burnley and QPR is it.

Falcao - There's a reason why he hasn't played CL football in 5 years. Overrated and very technically limited. The only thing World Class is his wages, which United happily bent over to pay him.

Mata - Now we all know why Mourinho decided to sell him off. Not the player he used to be and is pretty much a passenger in the side.

Agreed. 3 assists and 8 goals in his last 12 games show that he contributes nothing at all.
So really United have an OK attack, mediocre midfield, and a laughable defence.

Not really as the defence is what it is. You could argue it could be off-set and less of an issue by scoring over 100 goals I guess but it does not alter the fact and in truth only strengthens my point. Think.

We probably haven't even seen our 1st team defence yet... Not all together.
Rafael is just back (and looking sharp), Shaw and Smalling soon ready.
I think LvG will settle on:
Rafael, Jones, Evans, Shaw
That's not at all bad, imo, with Smalling and Rojo on the bench.
any rival team that comes thinking that backline is poor might be in for a shock.
