Berardi 5 - got rinsed by Bunn time and time again and had Town made something of his runs the scoreline could have been closer.
Warnock 8 - got the better of scannell with great positioning.
Bellusci 8 - dominant display and almost a great goal.
Pearce 8 - rock at the back today.
Austin 9 mom - great goal, an assist, great driving runs, a lot of tackles, good distribution and even made a couple of great slide rule passes. Let's hope that's not his one in ten good games.
Bianchi 8 - dictated the tempo and wasted very few balls. Has the game opened up so did his passing range. Looked vulnerable to players running at him but to his credit he chases back.
Sloth 7 - nice and tidy and almost nipped in to score early on.
Cook 7 - a good future and when he learns when to keep and when to kick he will be a great player. Cost Bellusci is yellow card by trying to play football on the edge of his box but it's great to see someone willing to take a player on
Doukara 8 - links the play up well with intelligent play and battled well for the side. a great finish.
Antelucci 8 - gets his body in good places and linked up well with Doukara. It was his block that helped score the first goal.
Overall a very good display. At times in the first half it looked like we were passing for passing sake with no real purpose and it took a defensive error to allow Austin the ball. Up until then there was very little in the game. Coming into half-time Huddersfield were enjoying a lot of possession when Leeds broke away and scored again. Leeds were dominant in the second period even with 10-men. It was clinical finishing however that won this game because smithies didn't touch the ball other than to pick the ball out of the net three times. Clinical finishing built on a foundation of a side that defended very well as a unit. Only the right side looked vulnerable.
Redfearn has done very well but has benefited from the players now having had time to gel. He is picking the right team at present and 10 points from 12 is a great haul. He made a poor decision to keep Berardi on the field today. With bellusci booked also the right hand side of the defence was vulnerable. You could see that gaetano was back tracking and scared to make a tackle and he had bianchis tracking back to be thankful for. I sat there at half time and willed him to bring Byram on. It was as obvious a substitute as I have seen in a long time and as the game went on I was mystified how he didn't make the change. Thankfully we were 3-up by the time the inevitable happened.
Very pleased with this overall and I am starting to see the signs of side that might just put a decent chase for a playoff place.

Just back from a day of tennis, sounds like not only a good result but a great performance.
I said earlier today that this is first match in a while that I was actually expecting a result, great to see team build on last few matches.

Italian love?
I was ecstatic when Massimo got the go ahead to come in. I was glued to the internet, wireless and TV waiting for the decision to be made. When it was announced I celebrated in the same way as I did when I witnessed the big goals over the years..... Brian Gayles og, Strachan v Leicester, Beckford v B.Rovers. I was at all these games but in my head within my four walls at home I was creating the same passionate fist pumping out of body experience.
Why? I was a long-term hater of ken bates, and my hated for him led to me boycotting the stadium. Leeds were stagnant and needed something to happen. I hoped gfh would take us forward and they made some good decisions to try and unite the clubs and fans again. Sadly though they were never going to take major decisions and changes that we needed.
I love Massimo Cellino. These radical changes have been just what the doctor ordered. I wasn't and still not against his decision to appoint hockaday. Certainly I was sceptical of some of the players coming in because I felt that on the field we needed to add 4 or 5 quality players rather than bringing in 15. The current wage bill worries me with such a large squad and many players not playing but hopefully these new players are on much less money than those gone.
There is still much work to be done. I would have been happy with a top half finish this season with the re-purchase of Elland road going through.

To be fair to Jonty he did have Leeds down for a win in his predictions list with Penshawdave, so there's a huge vote of confidence in Leeds United, some could say it's a massive u turn...!!!
(I say that because it's such a rare event!!)

I would like Morison get a bit more than 5 minutes. I too think there is something special just below the surface, same as Austin.
I also think that all our team have excellent fitness levels and that is rejuvenating their careers.
Hockadoodledo must take some credit for this but So must Massimo as he sets the standards.
