Bonusses

Cellino made a point that he offered players less wages than they were currently on, but that they could earn good money from bonuses.

All clubs offer bonuses for wins, goals, promotion etc.

I certainly believe in performance related pay, maybe seven with players forfeiting wages should the scoreline be worse than 4-0 say.

We've seen some very lacklustre performances this season, people were saying that players didn't seem to be trying this weekend for example, so what bonuses could we be offering that would tempt players to move to us for lower wages and how effective are they?

eve though you do seem to contradict yourself by saying the overseas players might not have been up for a fixture like that???

Faith, where have I said anything like this at all???

Jonty .... not disagreeing for the most part, just find it surprising that the team were lacklustre.

Maybe i'm clutching at straws for the reasons, but I still maintain it's early days with this squad, so mixed results are to be expected - unless we were really lucky and they all immediately gel and rip the league apart.

Jonty,

Sheldon said that.

Sorry, It was supposed to read Agree with Sheldon, even though he. I was addressing him.

He starts off saying he doubts that there was a problem with players not trying, but then goes on to say it could be because the foreigners couldn't get up for a game against a small team.

Responding to your comment about it being other fans words. I think this is an easy excuse for certain fans that have the opinion this side will make the play-offs this season. Rather than see what I see, which is that these players might not be good enough to get us promoted.

I don't think players don't try, unless they really hate the manager, but even then.

Just think we didn't get any breaks and new manager might not have instilled quite same feelings Redfearn and that Brentford aren't a bad team, especially at their place.

Just curious as to what these bonusses could be.

I'm imagining that they're probably same as usual just higher proportion in bonus than wage.

It's not players not trying, but when they know what they are doing (i.e game plan, their role) you get extra from them, as shown in the previous 3/4 games. I've rarely witnessed players not putting the effort in.

I think fans find a 'lack of effort' an easier way to get their heads around seeing one week a performance such as at Huddersfield and then losing to Brentford. A certain family member of mine always irritates me telling me they just don't care and just aren't trying because if we can win one week then apparently if we try we should win every week. I'm afraid football doesn't work like that, it's much more complex than "if you're good and you try you win every week."

Just to echo what others have said here and elsewhere, this squad is work in progress. There will be hiccups along the way but the potential is there for all to see.

Just a few games into the season and we're already on our third manager with a group of players still getting used to one another. Patience is the key.

The fact that there are bonusses is enough, not quite sure that we need to know the intimate detail, I certainly don't care!

They will kick on from this and another four match unbeaten run will give Milanic and his players more confidence.

And there I was thinking these chaps were coaches.

When I've pointed out that there was actually little difference to what they do and what 'Manager' Mcdermott did, you used to be at pains to try and point out the difference, yet now you're calling them managers.

A slip as you know. I'm on the train after a long day at the office. Head Coach and yes, huge differences between the two.

I'll let you have that one. You needed a few credits on the sheet after all
