The lack of width makes it very difficult for most football teams.
I don't think our system works, there is room for a better balance making it easier for the players.
Later on in matches we usually improve because minds and bodies are tired resulting in more space.
We generally really struggle in the first half as we have very little if any width.
4 central midfielders in whatever system is really hard to work.
The Lack Of Width

IU think there are 2 factors here.
1) Do we have the players to make a diamond formation effective?
2) Do our opponents (whomever they might be in the match) have the formation/players to effectively nullify our diamond formation?

Cellino wont change the formation so we are stuck with it for now
But yes we do need width. Maybe Cellino could put adryan and montenegro at least on the subs bench

Redfern got it spot on, played Sloth in a similar position Bowyer used to play at times where he tucked in when needed and offered width when needed and Doukara playing a defensive forward role, offering width going forward and cover when without the ball.

Another factor we have and its an important one is the quality we have out wide, and is it better than the quality we have in central midfield. Is Montenegro and Ajose a better option than losing two of Sloth, Cook, Austin and Bianchi

you can do a lot through technique though - just read a few books, RSL

Chelsea played it a lot before they bought Hazard.
It requires great technique, awareness and speed.
Lampard
Ramirez
Oscar
Mikel
That's a strong diamond.

Mike,
Your comment would carry more weight if Cheksea hadn't signed Hazard the season before they signed Oscar.
Stop making things up and hoping people believe them.
