Arsenal Injuries & Training

Is anyone going to conduct a review into our training and medical facilities?

Apparently we have state of the art facilities yet something seems fundamentally wrong with it all as the number of injuries our players suffer is simply ridiculous. It's the same old story every year, same number of injuries at the same time derailing what little hope we had of challenging for the title.

Is our training regime really that effective, or our medical team really as efficient as we think?

Does no one at Arsenal deem anything to be wrong in these departments?

Everytime we see any pictures of training sessions everyone looks happy too busy having fun and no one looks like they are actually working hard. Surely thats not all just for the camera?

I don't know why people thought that changing one fitness coach was going to instantly remove the injury issue we have. I'd say we're looking at the tail end of this season/beginning of next, before his changes can really start to take effect.

Even then, it may have little effect. Personally I think that the reason behind our injury record is easy to see. Some of it is the fact we have alot of kids and they break easy. But for me the overwhelming factor here has GOT to be Colin Lewin.

We didn't have this problem whilst his cousin was in charge. Yes players got injured but Gary seemed to be able to FIX them. In comparison, Colin is a total clown that can't seem to fix any injury permenantly or without causing another injury problem as a result.

Lewin HAS to go! And until he does, we can look forward to seeing half the first team injured season after season. This is his 6/7th in charge of the medical department now and coincidentally our 6/7th hamstrung by injuries...hmmmm.

He's done alot behind the scenes for the club so wouldn't like to see him tossed aside totally, but please god someone find him a role where he's not actually touching/treating the players because the man's clearly a liabilty.

Like many others who have commented on this topic, you have simply speculated on how the problem(s) may have occurred, and presented a solution (in this instance sacking Lewin). When in reality you have no more insight than the rest of us.

Unless someone is in a position to conclusively evidence that there has been negligence on the part of the club/staff I would suggest reserving judgment.

Has Wenger come out to speak about the Ozil injury?
Be interested to hear what he has to say.

Apparently the injury occurred DURING the Chelsea game.....why was he allowed to play the full 90?!?

I have a Seaman moustache.

Apparently Ozil advised (during the game) that he was okay to continue. As AFC were not in a position to challenge Ozil’s assessment (or undertake an MRI etc) he played the remainder of the game.

I see on the London Underground a big poster of Arsenal signing up with a health insurance company. I think it is called Vitality. Makes me smile.

Never claimed any more insight.

Gary ran things, we weren't ravaged by injury. His cousin takes over when he leaves and suddenly, we're ravaged by injury.

Occam's razor comes to mind. Not saying that Colin is negligent, just that he's crap at his job or at the very least nowhere near as good as his cousin. And we need someone that good.
