Nice gentle assassination of Keane

One of Keane's former players hits back rather nicely after criticism of him in his book:

I'd say Vinnie would have put him in his rightful place!.

I would have also liked to have seen him start on Duncan Ferguson!

Keane was a wirey and could fight, however his rage was always against those who never retaliated in kind.

Imagine as said, vinny or Duncan Ferguson? They would have waited for him after the game and knuckled him off the record.

Wldnt say he had it coming....but standing over someone mocking/accusing them....when injured isn't on.

Not saying its something I would do but I don't think I could be too morally outraged in Haaland's position.

...............................................
, he shouldn't have earned his money playing a game that holds so much disrepect for others that he wouldn't think twice about ending their career!..
..............................................

The sentence doesn't really make sense, it sounds like you are saying football shows so much disrespect that it tries to end peoples careers.

Regardless of that though, where is your proof he tried to end Haaland's career?!

As for the fighting Keane was a pretty handy boxer, put him up against someone much bigger than him and they would have had the edge but pound for pound there are probably very few premiership players who can match him.

/\ /\ well he should have stuck to boxing then /\ /\

as a footballer and a human, he's an utter a(rse)hole ...........

& had he played for any other club, you'd be saying the same ...........

"he shouldn't have earned his money playing a game that holds so much disrepect for others that he wouldn't think twice about ending their career!.."

He shouldn't have earned his money in a game where "he" holds so much disrespect for others that "he" wouldn't think twice about ending their careers!..

Sorry SAF, I saw afterwards it might be a "little" difficult for some to understand but couldn't be assed rewriting it!..

A shame it doesn't let such a little word by eh?.

Oh well, I new what I meant so sod everyone else eh?.

"Regardless of that though, where is your proof he tried to end Haaland's career?!"

Watch the second link and tell me he didn't!..

But then, the first link says he was at fault as well!.

I guessed what you meant but it was a confusing sentence!

He did want to hurt him, he admitted as much but I don't think we can say for sure he was trying to end his career... For all his faults Keane is quite honest and he specifically said he wanted to hurt him but not injure him.

Don't get me wrong it was a terrible tackle deserving off several games being banned whatever the intent.

SAF, big Jack was one of my old time favorites, but even he didn't go that far!..

My younger days was playing in the 60's, 70's, and in the Army in the 80's!..

So, my time was the time when football was full of those sorts, and that's how I like them, but not the one's that go out to do what he did!..

The first clip shows he tried to take Haarland out, back fired and he twisted his knee!..

His fault!..

The second people say a revenge strike!..

I'm trying to work out revenge for what!..

He should have been kicked out of football if that was a revenge strike, but hey, some get away with these things!..

"he specifically said he wanted to hurt him but not injure him."

That's the same as a killer going to court and saying, ey up mate, I only intended to hit him once but he decided to headbutt my baseball bat 6 or 8 times more!.

So, that's how you get away with murder!.

The revenge was for what happened when Keane was lying on the floor injured, it wasn't revenge for Keane missing a tackle on him.

The hurt injured thing.

If my friend annoys me (quite a bit I am not a violent person) I might punch him in the ribs say. I want to hurt him because he is annoying me...

I really don't want to crack any of his ribs or injure him such that he needs medical attention, but I want to hurt him.

For a more football related one surely you have heard of footballers giving a player a marker, or maybe a solid defender giving a fast tricky winger a tough challenge to slow him down...

Or to give an actual example Carragher on Nani.

Plenty of players go in to hurt other players, I wouldn't say they are always trying to injure those players though, they want them hurt but would feel bad if they were actually injured...

........have you many friend's?.

Well TBH I have gone past my mid twenties now and apart from with one friend I can't really say any punches get exchanged, even with him they are just more playful...

Going back to my earlier twenties we would exchange slightly more serious punches....(never the face though)
