Point of this article is simply to say that if the level of support of this petition was subjected towards the club and that 100,000 people cared enough about SUFC to fill the stadium every game the club would be in a better position.

What is ludicrous about this law is that if she accuses him of rape, she has to prove it, but if she "says" she can't remember he has to prove that he didn't.
This law has nothing to do with justice, but plenty to do with getting convictions.

Doc, you and i are on the same wavelength on this mate.
Too many people are self righteous about this.

If its just drink driving without anyone being injured the. It has to be me its rape, however if someone is injured or dies from someone drink driving then i'd find it hard to seperate them

Haven't there been footballers who have killed people through drink driving who were able to play again? That would mean there shouldn't really be a question of Evans being able to play again, should it?
I think there is also too much emphasis on players being these role models. Their job is primarily to play football for their club. I've heard people say they'd feel bad cheering him if he was playing for their team etc. I guarantee if he helped the team achieve success the fans would change their tune.

I can somewhat understand the difference personally...
If we assume Ched to be guilty he intentionally raped that girl, there was no accident about it.
Assuming they are not complete monsters the drunk drivers killed their victims by accident, they were punished for being complete idiots rather than intentionally committing a bad act.
That said, I believe once you've served your time you have served your time and he should be able to play now he is out.

This point has been raised a few times mate, apparently its because both McCormick and Hughes have shown remorse and apologised but Evans hasn't, but the counter for that arguement was if he believes he is innocent and he's having his cased reviewed then why should he offer an apology.

Listening to a lot of irate people who appear to only know one thing - that Evans is a convicted rapist, it would seem that his biggest crime is to be an overpaid footballer!
I'm still trying to work out why Evans is guilty because she was too drunk to say no, but she wasn't too drunk to say no to his mate!
This jibe is directed at the jury.

If Evans and McDonald had said that they hadn't done anything there would have been no case to answer because she said she can't remember.
This indicates to me and most other sensible people that the two lads were very confident that she was happy to go along with it and that they knew it wasn't a rape.
