Concerned

Anyone else worried about Silvestri.I think he is very good keeper but is not getting the cover he deserves from a poor defence.I think it would a tragedy if he lost his nerve because of poor cover in front of him .

Several players in our current side worthy of comment, but if we're looking to highlight an error by Silvestri, then we're scraping the bottom of the barrel i'm afraid.

Perhaps some fans ought to think on a bit. If we didn't pick up on every scintilla of error, perhaps if we didn't lambast at each opportunity - then maybe confidence wouldn't drop so quickly. I'm convinced that's been a problem for many a year now. Make one or two errors, and the experts are on you like a pack of wolves.

Playing for our club comes with expectations - I just think sometimes we're our own worst enemies with the way we target players. Yet bizarrely we make cult heroes out of players who patently weren't good enough (Barn Door Billy).

VOF - The Return

Excellent comments there sunshine.

In answer to your question the answer is no.

Re Gary Sprake

Our greatest ever manager kept faith with him and when he (Sprake) went, after a number of years after winning trophies with Leeds United, he went for a (then) world record fee for a goalkeeper.

He was obviously better regarded by folk that were involved in football than by some on here.

Just a point that needs making.

No one is scapegoating Silvestri, try reading the article, 15142 is talking about the defence.

I don't think I've seen anyone saying Silvestri hasn't played well this season.

He's talking about the keeper potentially losing his nerve behind a shaky defence. It's about the keeper.

You took that a stage further citing communication issues that will inevitably have an effect.

I'm saying he's done a bloody good job thus far and no evidence that communication has been an issue at all.

I'm just thankful that we have such a great keeper at our club, particularly as he cannot communicate properly, apparently has a wonky eye and is conspiring with other foreign imports to divide our dressing room...!

The bounder.

This an interview Silvestri gave.

Doesn't seem a problem understanding the interviewer.

Who said communication was a problem?

Stevie, he is worried about the defence exposing Silvestri, not so much worried about Silvestri.

I made a comment saying I think language could be an issue.

I've not blamed Silvestri, not scapegoated him, no one has.

Even Silvestri has said he needs to work on his English, I'm sure you'll try and insist that he's wrong though.

Been very good! Think blaming him for first goal vs Rotherham is a bit harsh

I thought Warnock was probably most at fault but that's my humble opinion.....
