Blackpool a team in dis-array at the start of the season with only 8 players signed up - they still managed to stall a very expensively assembled Florist side......Still they have managed to re-group, re-organise and I still think that they will come good - but not tonight hopefully.
Ward and Grant out - time for Russell to step up. I must admit I was more perturbed by Lee Grant's absence and maybe we have under-estimated the massive positive influence he has on the team. Let us see how Butland measures up. (Why no Roos?)

I don't see how he qualifies for parole if he still doesn't accept that his actions were rape, nevermind being signed.
He should of course be permitted to play football, as any free man should be, he just shouldn't be paid thousands to do if whilst being idolised by youngsters. No club should entertain signing him.

Find myself agreeing with 666 on this one, but can see the other point of view. My argument being 2 fold:
1) He is a convicted rapist (if he subsequently clears his name, the position would be different) and as such, I would consider the perspective of the victim and family potentially having to see him at matches (if they are fans) or on TV at some point.
2) The lifestyle of a professional football is glamorous to say the least, and potentially he could more easily be in a position to re-offend. He has been punished for his crime, this does not necessarily mean rehabilitated. If a similar situation were to exist where a convicted paedophile were to openly take up employment where there was a remote chance of him re-offending, it is unlikely to be tolerated.
It is also unlikely that if he were previously working for a major brand company, or public position, that he would return to that role post conviction.
As I said if he clears his name then he should be allowed to play.
It can't really be linked to the Pristorius case, who I think should have got a much stiffer sentence anyway.
Just my opinion as a dad, I am not saying I'm right or trying to convince anyone to change theirs.
