Bellusci racism claim

...........................................................
...........................................................

Didn't see or hear the game last night, so I have no idea what has or hasn't been said. I have no idea whether the allegation is true or false.

I have however heard the news reports and read comments on here.

IMO there are now problems for Leeds United, its owner and coach.

What do they do...?

The player needs to be spoken to and the incident managed appropriately.

If it is found that he made a racist remark, whatever the circumstances, whatever the provocation, they must deal with it robustly.

There is no place in football for racism.

Simple as that.

Time for those that hold the power to show their worth in the role.

Note to Massimo Cellino / Darko Milanic

It does not matter who the player is, how good he is or how much he is worth...! Get it sorted.

The eyes of the footballing community are again poring over Leeds United, deal with it swiftly, deal with it sensibly and then get on to the next game.

If it's a falsehood, do the same and defend him robustly too.

That's probably easier said than done. But I agree with your sentiments.

Eric ........... I know, a very simplistic view of it from me - in essence it's what i'd like to see happen in those situations, in reality fraught with issues ....

The claim is alleged,

Untill such time as Bellusci is found guilty or innocent, then it should be treated as alleged.

Some people on here are hanging Bellusci already.

It's been said, and printed that the ref never heard the alleged slur, but had to put it in his report as it was an allegation.

I completely agree with your above comment VOF.

It is alleged. I don't believe I have said otherwise.

This is a news report by the Telegraph

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/norwich-city/11180864/Norwich-City-striker-Cameron-Jerome-claims-Leeds-United-defender-Giuseppe-Bellusci-called-him-a-negro-during-spat.html

This is a quote from that article, attributed to Massimo Cellino

“Bellusci is no racist,” said Cellino. “I spoke with him and he said ‘you must be joking, I said nothing like this to him [Jerome].’ He is surprised by this. He is shocked.” “Bellusci says he spoke [to Jerome] in Italian. I don’t know if he [Jerome] speaks Italian too but Bellusci swears to me he said nothing racist."

Wasn't having a go at you Eccers,

what I said was said in general my apologies if it seemed that way.

I'm not that daft Eccers, you're bigger than me.

Never took it that way sunshine, no problem here. I was just acknowledging your comment that the matter is simply an allegation.
