Dear Friends, as you know, I try to be fair and balanced on this forum. I have noticed a lot of people are upset with the actions of Mario Balotelli last night and I for one, can understand why LFC fans are upset but the outrage in my humble opinion is not consistent with the "crime." I am also shocked that the player is not being defended by the loyal fanbase.
So, dear friends, all I ask for is consistency;
For example;
Racially abuse a player - we love you, get the t-shirts made and the american lawyers and club statements
Dive, cheat - we love you
Bite - we love you
Give fulham fans the finger - we love you
Admit to racially abusing player - we love you
Refuse to shake hand of man you admitted you racially abused - we love you
Player exchanges shirt with another player - hang him
Why so much fury over this action when it is nothing compared to the other things done by a former fan fave?
Where, dear friends, is the consistency?
Cheers
Where is the Consistency?

75 appearances in the CL for United for this so called mediocre shirt carrier.
As they say, I rest my case.

Perhaps we have different interpretations of the phrase 'shirt carrier.' My interpretation is of a player - like O'Shea - who fills a place in the team but more often than not has little significant impact on the game. I.e O'Shea 2002-2007. After that he did come into his own a bit as a versatile utility player, but that was - in my opinion - down to experience rather than ability. That being said, he scored some great goals. Arsenal 06.. And I guess some will always hold him in higher esteem than his ability demanded due to his goal in front of the Kop.

Kevin Kilbane has 110. Not the best indicator tbf.

Did he have any 393 for United?

David O'Leary who was a far better defender only had 68. Go figure.

That surely reinforces my earlier point that appearances count for little.

Or it reinforces mine that a shirt carrier or mediocre player wouldn't have made 363 appearances for the most successful English team during that time and 100 appearances for his country.
I think he just may have been a bit better than mediocre, and a shirt carrier.
I think JOS was one of our most under rated players.

Perhaps he was. I imagine John O'Shea c. 2008 would have been one of the better players in our squad last season 2011-14. Much in the same way I feel Fletcher and Carrick were slightly overrated in the same period during which the overall quality of our squad had slipped significantly from the 06-2010 standard.
