Back by popular demand and brought to you in association with www.nofiltersnodeletionsasthisisapublicforumfordebate.com I'm proud to bring you the first of this season's weekly serial:
They played for both sides.
Each week I'll briefly profile a player who has appeared for both Leeds United and our next opponents. In this week's instalment we focus on a player who played for the Mighty Whites and for Wolves.
I expect to be joined by my two glamorous assistants Jonty and LIW. The former takes on the mantle of series researcher, the latter is expected to pass unbiased appraisal on how good (or bad) this player was for Leeds United.
The serial is a precursor to the main event, The Matchday Thread, ably put together by Highland. The only man I know to put in significant effort into the preparation and then habitually turn up late for his own party!
Today's focus of attention is one Paul John Butler. Born 1972 he joined Leeds United in 2004 going on to make over 100 appearances before eventually moving on to MK Dons initially on loan and then permanently.
A former captain of Leeds United he scored over 30 goals in his first season (he clearly didn't but I guess this is why I need Jonty to stop me from making myself look silly......).
So fellow Whites' supporters the questions are;
1) was Paul Butler a positive or a negative in his time at Leeds United?
2) would Paul Butler be a first choice in today's Leeds United?
3) do you have any fond memories of his time here?
4) can you recall any other players who represented both clubs and
5) which current Wolves' player would you play for Leeds United and which current Leeds United player would he replace? (Out of the last starting XI)
For our Wolverhampton Wanderers' fanatics;
1) was Paul Butler a good servant to your club and
2) given the choice, and I appreciate there's plenty, which current Leeds United player would you take to Molyneux?
Over to you..........
They played for both sides.....

Two sets of brothers who played for both clubs:
Terry Hibbitt played for Leeds while brother Kenny played for Wolves. I think that we had the best of those siblings.
While
Allan Clarke played for Leeds and brother Wayne played for us. We deffo go the shii1tty end of the stick with those two.
