Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez should be on Manchester United's radar for next summer. I see absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be, given our financial power, need for a top class right winger/wing forward, need to instil fear into opposition again given how much respect we are currently showing teams and that Juan Mata just isn't a Manchester United player. (Something I have said since the day he signed - to the point where I think, for many reasons he was a worse buy than Fellaini. Fellaini we can drop from the 18, no problem. With Mata his reputation, talent and cult status combined with his cost glue him into the squads and starting 11 when more often than not he just doesn't fit.)

A deal where the players go opposite ways and we pay a negotiable amount to Arsenal for Sanchez would be fitting for both clubs, as Arsenal are certainly a selling club at the top level in the modern game, and we have let our expectations and sights drop too much since SAF left.

Another midfielder - likely Kevin Strootman, and Sanchez & I'd think we would be serious contenders for any competition we were in next season, even if we were undermanned at the back still.

Just looked at your history back to July and you haven't posted at all on our board at all since at least July, yet you've managed enough posts on the United board. Funny that, given your support for both teams....

Instead of writing pathetic articles like this you could have been spending the time giving your thoughts on today's fixture away to Ipswich.

its almost like we're an afterthought to you. I'm sure Powell & the lads will do their level best to win some trophies for you. Maybe then we'll be appealing enough to your fickle nature

Assuming a lot there Champers. It's ok if you don't understand it, I don't mind. Believe me, I have enough experience explaining how I support and love both clubs to people. You just seem angry I can do it and not feel at all like I'm splitting my allegiances. DATM is where I post about town. More to talk to there, even if the majority are doom-mongers. If you don't like my views, you're entitled to your own, you don't have to contribute. But you certainly aren't a better fan than I am.

Why so much hate for OP? Arsenal selling their best players is nothing new. Its not beyond the realm of possibility that they will do it again. Any one of their players are available for the right prize as long as Arsene is in charge imo.

Sanchez may be open for a move if we get top four and finish above arsenal or arsenal fail to get top four. Although we should be looking to buy a quality CB before adding more attacking players to our sqaud

Never said I was. Just questioned the validity of supporting two teams.

You're a brave man putting up with DATM in all fairness. It's the digital equivalent of an open-air asylum that place!

Can't imagine any of the current Arsenal players forcing through moves like Fabregas, Nasri or RvP because none of the current Arsenal players are good enough to feel entitled to win trophies, unlike the aforementioned players.

OP

Hypothetical one for you -

Huddersfield suddenly unearth some Busbys-terriers from the reserves. A group of 4-5 excellent players.
Would you write an article, voicing your opinion that United should poach all their best players "because that's what United do"?

In that situation I would want, as I always do, for my clubs academy prospects to succeed. I would want the town academy players to stay with town and I'd hope the club was as important to them as it is to me. That's not the case though, and if they were to move on to bigger things, although it would sadden me that they left their hometown club they'd been with their whole youth career, if they had to go anywhere, then selfishly United would be the place I'd want them to go.

I wouldn't ever choose for them to leave town however. But if the situation occurred, it would be next to unthinkable that a group of players of that leel would stay with the club when we are one of the lowest paying clubs in the championship wage wise.

Rooney....there in lies your problem. Not Mata

Rooney has to be 'the man' and he's just not up to it
