Blind Fletcher etc hav not solved our defensive probs..but then with the likes of Evans at CB we would need a modern day Bekenbauer to prevent that. Carrick is a class act and he will fill that area in front of the CBs better than what we have atm

3) Did we overpay on Luke Shaw? Yes. But he's still a good player and will serve us well for years to come imo

5) Given a run of games, are our current CBs capable of achieving the levels required? Depends on what is considered the required levels. I would stick with them and think they will grow as a partnership

After the start we've had, 4th place is my best case scenario, all things considered
7) Should Rooney have been made captain? Probably. I like Blind and think he looks like a future captain but far too early

9) Does Carrick deserve to come straight back into the squad? Who drops out to accommodate him if he does? Yes. Don't understand the second part. If you mean the 25 man squad submitted, he's already in it. If you mean the 16 man match day squad, it varies from game to game anyway. Would drop Januzaj though if oushed. Needs to up his game
10) And finally... What position is the most in need of a January overhaul? And who, in an ideal world, do you sign? Centre back. Anyone but Hummels. So overrated that it's ridiculous
