SAD DAY !!!!

According to touchline talk Gary Rowett will be installed as the new manager of Birmingham City.

For me its a sad day for our football club but i do wish him and his staff all the success they work so hard for with limited finance.

Thanks Gaz for some good times and putting our club on the football league map.

I think you're right Emnez, I saw his interview on the Football League Show and reading between the lines it came across to me as a done deal.

Unlucky with the fluke Stevenage winner.

Good luck with finding a replacement for your management team if that's what it comes to, as I fear it will.

A sad day for BAFC, even sadder for GR. The blues job would be ideal for the manager after next. GR is going to have contend with the ownership issues and a bunch of overpaid players who don't want to be there. He has demonstrated how football managers have an attitude that no challenge is too big for them.

Lets wait and see , but if he does go then i wish him and his staff who he will take with him all the best of luck
.Maybe he feels he has taken the Albion about as far as he can , and its now going to be wait and see time , but i fear it will derail our season and will possibly be a season where we will be thankful of points accrued ,rather than worrying about finishing in the top seven .

Birmingham fan here. According to today's Birmingham Mail, he's accepted the job. Sorry for you blokes as he seems well respected judging by the comments here. So, assuming Blues have got him, what are we getting for our money (or IOU knowing the shysters that run our club). In Lee Clark we had a manager who changed the line up every single week; can we expect a bit more consistency from GR?

Whatever happens, good luck for the rest of the season.

Prediction for new management team: Michael Johnson & Darren Moore...

Well its official so we move on , shame we lose the expertise of Kevin Summerfield , Kevin Poole , and Mark Sale but that happens . Personally im not keen on Moore and Johnson they are untried ,but so would Sharps and Bell be who are maybe coming towards the end of their careers on the pitch and could be a suprise management team , and who are aparently .going to support Mike Whitloe. I think Ben will take his time , but i will respect whoever he appoints as he knows it has to be right for the football club .

its really sad news for all burton fans even us down the 38 in derby.even though i dont get to many games as i would like.my broter goes to all brewers home games and when he can away matches.personally i think he has made a huge mistake.i think he will do a clough and fail but far more quickly.he will then be looking for another job sooner rather than later.i think maybe the teams form of late letting in so many goals in a game 3 a lot of times.he needed 3 more years under his belt before this move.personally i feel let down and i wish him nothing.i hope ben keeps his record and gets a manger who is capable of getting the brewers promoted.not just a sad day for the brewers and ben who must be gutted.but a sad day i think for rowett in the end..its done and dotted.come on you brewerssss

I think he and his colleagues will do well at Birmingham. Going to a club second from bottom who have lost lost 0-8 at home in their last game, surely the only way is up. Additionally the expectations shouldn't be too unrealistic which will help.

I feel for Brewers fans but there will be a lot of interested candidates wanting to go to a club on the up. This happens in football, successful managers are always in demand in the same way as successful footballers. The main thing is that whoever comes in gets the full support of everybody.

Yes, a sad day but it doesn't feel as bad as when Nigel Clough left us. Gary's done well at Burton and I wish him all the best at Birmingham.

More importantly, good luck to Mike Whitlow and the team on Saturday. Let's hope the players are in an attacking mood and score lots of goals (without letting any in, of course).
