I agree that NR should get 6 games. Whilst drawing up a list.

Then assess the situation, if NR has done well...we keep him where he is and if he isn't the approach people from the list.

I just cannot for the life of me think of any proven championship winning managers who know Leeds United & the players.

Jud, Maribor are by far biggest fish in Slovenian pond, its like you playing football v 7 year old, you;d win, but does that mean you 'know' how to win?

Re proven Champ managers, Mick Mccarthy for a start.

Doesn't even have to be someone who knows the championship, just someone who fits the role at Leeds and understands the modern game.

- Speaks English (for a start)
- Knows how to motivate players
- Knows how to change things for the better when it's not working
- Track record of playing positive football
- Relevant experience

It honestly can't be hard to find the right man, money should be the last hurdle.

Not sure we'll ever get this with Cellino though.

Good shout

Barnsley lad as well.

Personally I think the squads at Wolves & Sunderland were much stronger in comparison to the opposition than ours is now, and Sunderland had PL money still but if we could prise him from Ipswich then id take him 100%

Apart from the relevant experience, this is Neil Redfearn.

Jud, I think any championship manager knows something about the players in the league, that;s why appointing someone with zero experience and giving him no time to learn was crazy.

I think Mccarthy is a good manager, and if we have these 15 mill transfer budgets and promises about promotion next year then surely Mccarthy would get the backing in terms of players needed...then you realise it's Cellino and you know that Mccarthy would probably not want to come here just to be coach.

I wonder when this penny will drop for Cellino and he admits he needs to do it differently here.

Redfearn has already been given the job permanently. So this 6 games to find a permanent manager doesn't matter.

Jud, Completely agree re. Warnock. Never been successful in any of his jobs. The only reason he has more Promotions than anyone else, is because all the good managers that got promotions early on were snapped up by Premiership clubs. He was never good enough so had many more opportunities.

The 2 appointments that he has sacked. I see method in the madness of both. I really do. That's not to say I expected them to work. But I can see reasoning behind it. But especially with Darko, surely you make the appointment knowing he will need time to adapt, but in the long term his pedigree will come through? (I am not saying his pedigree was excellent or would have before we start discussing that, just that it must have been the reason for his appointment) So given them reasons, why would you sack him after 6 games? He never stood a chance!!! I don't think he was the right man for the job. But if I was convinced enough to appoint him for the job given his CV, I would have made the decision based on the long term surely? I just don't understand how if you were so sure, that things can change so quickly. Or the other option you weren't sure in the first place....in which case why appoint him?

Mick Mccarthy would be a good shout! Good manager. Too expensive for us though unfortunately. And as Jonty says, why would he come?

Jud asks who do we want if we ignore whether we could get them or not. And I would like Glen Hoddle as my thinking out of the box option. I said this well before QPR took him on as a coach. As a replacement for BM.

He is a good coach that appears to have the right footballing philosophy, was a great player. Has had teams playing some good football in the past. And has shown lots of interest in youth football.
Oh and the last ex England manager QPR took on to coach left straight for Derby and that worked out quite well!

Faith, I saw it was permanent on BBC on Saturday but haven't yet seen that conformed by the club.

Faith, remember the match before Cellino sacked Hock, he said he thought of sacking him but then realised that was the cowards way etc.

Same with Darko, if you appoint them, you have to give them a chance. 32 days is not giving your own appointment a chance.
