Chelsea's injury record

How ridiculously fortunate have Chelsea been this season with injuries? Particularly to their defense. I put this on the Arsenal and United board because I think both sets of fans will be almost shocked looking at these stats from the season so far. Surely they must have an amazing medical team or some top notch training methods.

***Out of the 810 minutes played this season so far, Ivanovic, Terry, and Cahill have played all 810. Azpilicueta had played the first 670 til he was sent off against Palace, so he's only missed 140 mins due to suspension***

How do they possibly keep them so fit? It's almost unfathomable when compared to both of our defensive injuries so far.

Our most played CB combination this season has been McNair and Rojo, who have only been on the field together for 180 minutes...two games out of nine!

Careers are on the line. There is professional levels and them there is the game in the park. When you play at the speed and intensity they play at, small niggles lead to massive injuries which considering their value to their club and themselves is not worth the risk.

Anyone who plays sports is always going to carry injuries, the question becomes how seriously you take them. I played. Basketball and all the guys had knee problems which are basically untreatable without extensive physiotherapy and/or surgery and they just put knee support out there and kept going. It limits them but they push through. Levels of expectations are different to the pros. In fact its this mentality (which lots of young players have) that lead to players carrying long term injuries throughout their careers.

"It must be so relaxing for Chelsea fans coming on BBC."

I've missed this. Is it like Gogglebox?

Sounds like something found on Brazzers.

I don’t know mate, I was pretty handy in my day

In all seriousness, of course it isn’t the same thing, small margins and all that but ultimately we’re all just humans. Modern players are generally much better athletes now but many players still aren’t anything special in that department. Talking of small margins that could be the difference between one player making a game and sitting it out.

I get it isn’t quite the same thing but it isn’t completely alien either.

Liverpool only need to keep one man fit though really.

It's not luck it's called having a good medical team, maybe you should try it sometime.
