Dembele against Aston Villa

Afternoon ladies

Just saw a comment on an article suggesting that Moussa Dembele has started releasing the ball slightly earlier than usual, and although it's been against lesser teams, I have to agree that he has looked better.

I have enjoyed seeing Mason in the squad and although I think he's played well when picked, I would quite like to see Dembele given another chance in the Premier League.

I would like the team below to be tried out at Villa. How would y'all feel if we went into the Villa game as follows:

------------------ Lloris

Naughton---Dier---Vertongehn--Davies

--------------Capoue--Dembele

Chadli-----------Kane----------Lamela

------------------Soldado

I know the team will be highly unlikely due to a lot of these players having just played yesterday but I feel if we had Lamela on the left and Chadli on the right, rather than cutting in, we would play better.

Having Kane & Soldado up top (who I think have formed a better partnership than Ade & Eriksen have) would work well in my opinion.

I would give Eriksen a spot on the bench as Iv'e not been massively impressed with him this season.

Is Kaboul better than Fazio?

The whole team seems to be turning into a really average outfit now. And the three home defeats already this season prove that. HTF are Spurs really going to improve above anything other than mediocre, if players like Naughton, Rose, Kaboul, Mason, Bentaleb, etc are seen as the backbone of our team according to a lot of supporters. None of them are anything better than very, very average.

Trouble is I do not have a feck what the first XI is supposed to be, and I doubt Poch does either, lots of players, but most not up to scratch.

Oh the boy's a slag
The best you ever had
The best you ever had
Is just a memory and those dreams
Weren't as daft as they seem
As daft as they seem
My love when you dream them up..."

When you reel off names like that and actually take a second to read it that really is depressive stuff. I competely that is such an average bunch of players and ones that seem to get in our 1st 11 every week. I would say mason has the talent to potentially be a very good player but still needs to do more. The others are just your average premier league players and it's no wonder why we struggle so much. Compare that list to what we used to have in modric, VDV etc is sad

Sorry guys wrong thread. That was meant for the music thread that quote arctic monkeys.

But my point was in reply to sandy. Average bunch of players he put down there.

We might win this one, since its away, and WHL pitch is too small according to our fearless manager.
Also I see that Paulinho is back on the bench, and actually had 5 mins against B&H.
He's player we need at full form.
However, our defense is total Shiite and Vertonghen is the only one currently at the back that's worth keeping.

Perhaps Lloris will save us and we'll get a draw

But Townsend is rubbish, Chicken. "Everyone" knows that......you and I look to be going against the grain on him. No change there then.

The two CMs watched Weimann run through yesterday. Both looked at him and left him. This Capoue was supposed to be a ball playing defensive rock. Another example of a fancy name swaying opinion last Summer

HRH,

I said on a debate a couple of weeks ago I would drop Capoue and Lemala, and got slaughtered for it. One week on some were creating articles saying Lamela should be dropped. I know Townsend has some “decision making” issues (i.e. when to shoot and when not to) but we lack any real threat when he’s not on the pitch. He comes on and we start to get corners, throw-ins in the last third, and free kicks around the box.

Whilst Kaboul was slow to react to Wiesman, Capoue just let him wander in the box, wander in front of him, and he just stood there marking space. Posters are claiming Dembele is slow at passing but Capoue slows play down to an almost stop.

Dembele and Townsend would be in the starting XI for me.
