Sagna

I was just checking his stats at City & so far he's only played once. Just an observation, not hating the fellow, just hope he's enjoying his time there.

It is true with our defence being so fine , we could have done with his services right now. Especially since he can play anywhere at the back. But I'm sure he had the blessing of Wenger and the board when he left.
I'm wondering why City don't try him at CB. Surely he can't be worse than Mangala

We have a very good centre back in Demichelis, who should be playing a lot more.

Debuchy has replaced him comfortably..Could not believe how good Debuchy was both defensively and offensively..Hopefully he has speedy recovery.

Debuchy is average at best, very much a stop gap signing

Sagna knew exactly what he is doing. At the end of his career he prefered more money. I cant fault him for his decision. Great player, great guy.

Average I don't think so, stop gap yes maybe

If anyone was average it was Sagna for the past 2 years. Absolutely zero attacking threat by him. Watching Debuchy was a breath of fresh air. Shame he got the standard freak injury at arsenal.

Sagna could have done a job for us for another season, but you have to replace your older players at some point.

I guess with Mert & Koscielny turning 31 and 30 respectively next season, Wenger didn't like the age of that backline with his last 3 seasons in mind.

Debuchy will be good for another 3 seasons, as will Koscielny, allowing Chambers to be backup to both.

This is probably Mertesackers last season as first choice, what little speed he had seems to have finally gone, so hopefully we'll get in a top CB next summer to replace him (although keep him as backup/rotation).

Sagna is much better than Debuchy, still very sad to see him gone. Arsenal fans slagging him off are a disgrace.

dont make me laugh, maybe 2-3 years ago but not know. You can see how poor he looks in the City team where he is expected to overlap like Zab and add to the attack.

Role of the RB has changed greatly.

Oh and no one is slagging him off, we are just saying he isnt as good as he used to be.
