Ryback

Interesting character here. Has the crowd behind him on his debut, has the traditional WWE build. Could he be that silent killer type of character that always gets over to some degree?

I've heard the rumours Skip Sheffield apparently was that character who went on that undefeated streak in 2012 before descending into a tail spin and vanishing off the face of the earth soon after. Regardless of whether that's true or not, I hope this character can be handled with a bit more sense than that one was

JTHT, I don't know what it is but whether it's on the Chelsea board or this here, you have this uncanny ability to post comments I can really sink my teeth into. Miss debating with you dude

The IWC is the only real demographic that doesn't like Ryback. The live event crowd can pop for his cheesiness, the traditionalists like the fact he's a jacked up believable monster, the younger fans like him, as a heel he proved he has comedic value........ not a lot getting in the way of this guy becoming something more than just mid-card fodder considering the one demographic that disapprove of his push are notoriously the hardest to please. The WWE can get away with giving him the force push they were handing to Roman Reigns without the fans turning on it. He's a star waiting to be made, maybe with a limited novelty period but still......it's a vein WWE have yet to tap.

The injury to Bryan has blatantly disrupted WWE's programming for the entire autumn season. The Cena/Lesnar program was clearly intended for Bryan and clearly hasn't been doctored at all to accommodate Cena. The dynamics of this program had Bryan been in this position are 1000x better than with Cena - the Summer Slam squash would've been 1000x more effective. As it stands you almost have to remind yourself Brock ended the streak because destroying Cena did nothing to stoke that fire, matter of fact it extinguished it.

To be honest, we might look back on that injury for Reigns as being a blessing. You could feel the wind beginning to change on him right before he was sidelined. The last thing fans want to feel as a by-product of the Cena push is a sense that WWE has put the guy over before the fans have, and they were skating that line very dangerously in the summer. Now if he returns at the Rumble, he'll have the fan fair WWE want for him going into WM.

So am I. Feel like they missed a big opportunity at HIAC by not having Ambrose hold either of those titles going into it. With the WHC not being defended it was a great excuse to have a mid-card belt being associated with the main event of the show in some fashion. They probably felt they needed the Ziggler/Cesaro match to guarantee one good technical match, but it would've been a nice subtle way to remind people that the mid-card belts aren't completely finished. But w/e, just my opinion.

Comedy Heel

I just hope Ryback isn't the latest to suffer from the stop-start pushes that've ruined the progression of so many recently.

Just a minor thing, but I found it curious how they gave him Reigns' trait to 'powering' out of grapples with Kane's chokeslam. Ryback vs. Reigns at WM perhaps?

Just found my ubers. I think they rushed the Nexus, could have gone on longer.

Nexus was not that good but destruction of SHIELD was wrong They could have continued that group for at least 10 -12 more months!

Agreed. Shield had a lot more to accomplish. The E is just desperate for more top faces.

Nexus was horrible, no argument from me on that. But couldn't disagree more via The Shield.

That split them off at just the right time. The Shield was never meant to get the team over, it was meant to lay a foundations to eventually get it's members over as individuals - and I can't think of a better way for it to have disbanded than it did. The proof is on the screen, Ambrose is a white hot face, Rollins is the biggest heel on the roster and Reigns is probably gunna win the title at WM.

Even as The Shield I don't know what else they could've done? Beating Evolution in back to back PPVs was likely as high as they could've reached as a faction.

I would go as far as to say, besides a six-month period last year where they were in limbo, the booking of The Shield and it's members since has been some of WWE's best work since the break up of Evolution.

The only nit-picking compliment I have in hindsight is them not jump starting the Evolution vs. Shield angle immediately once Batista came in, there by facilitating the first Ambrose vs. Rollins match at WM30 (possibly a triple threat between all three of them) to give them that WM showcasing as singles competitors. But that's really being pedantic.
