They played for both sides.......

Continuing the popular serial "They played for both sides.......", this time we focus on a player who has worn both the famous white shirt of Leeds United and also looks as if they've been tango'd. Except this individual hasn't.........

Bought to you in association with www.cellinocantaffordtobuyawincoshesgotnomoney.com our subject this week is the legendary keeper Paul Rachubka.

Signed by his former Blackpool boss Simon Grayson, Paul came to Leeds United in the Summer of 2011. Ultimately bought in as the back-up keeper for the 2011-12 campaign I recall Rachubka fumbling the ball into the back of the net to gift Coventry City a late equaliser.

Unfortunately, his crowning glory was another midweek game that I had to endure against Blackpool where I witnessed one of the worst 45 minutes for a Leeds United keeper.

His career started with Manchester United and despite being an American he went on to represent England at various junior levels. Paul managed less that ten appearances for Leeds United in two seasons before moving on when his contract expired.

So...........

For followers of the Mighty Whites:

1) was Rachubka unfairly treated by Leeds United fans after his Blackpool horror show?
2) can you name three other poor keepers to have played for Leeds United?
3) who else has played for these two famous clubs?
4) which current Blackpool player would you bring to ER and which player, using the last starting XI would he replace and finally,
5) would former Tangerines manager Ian Holloway have made a good head coach for Leeds United?

For our friends from Blackpool........

1) was Rachubka really that good to have picked up a Player of the Season award during his time at Bloomfield Road?
2) Oyston or Cellino?
3) Nile Ranger, discuss......

Over to you!

I recall one buffoon that regularly comments on this board (huge Leeds fan, been to possibly a game once) remarking that at one game he saw Rachubka in the tunnel before the game and that he had 'fear in his eyes'

I do not recall whether it was this particular game.

To be honest he was probably fearful because there was an unknown dimwit staring at him in the tunnel..!!

Re the Holloway / Cellino possibility, bring it on, that would be a meeting of minds and culture eh...?

Oh to be a fly on the wall when they had a chat..!

I know one poster that would probably burst a blood vessel at the thought of such a thing...!

But then he's silly in his own way.

Here Stevie, I have just looked back over our board, I have worked it out and I find it's strange how when we win we get a rough average of four threads over the next twenty four hours with one by what I would call a 'dreary'

When we lose or draw we get an average of thirty nine and eighteen of them are by one poster blaming Massimo Cellino for everything wrong in the world from the dawn of time to present day, twelve are by the two WUMS from Wolverhampton and Huddersfield, the rest are predominantly by folk from the rhubarb triangle moaning about their own life and two are from folk with sense.

Odd that isn't it...?

Obviously there are those that would question these figures, but they'd be wrong.
