As far as Im concerned, they have stirred up unrest, flown banners at the World Cup and generally tried to stir up anti-British hatred around the world to try to take what has been part of the UK for centuries and since before Argentina existed (or so Im led to believe). The people of the Falklands have said they want to be British.
Yet this lot complain about a number plate on a car. As far as Im concerned they can do one.

Argentina has always existed, you mean before the Europeans stole the land?
A British sailor stopped there once in the 1700s and left a plaque claiming the islands. But it was the Argentines who first colonised it and set up a government.
Britain's sole claim is that it called dibs. As soon it it became advantageous to own it Britain swooped back in.
The Malvinas clearly belong to Argentina.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
A simplistic and misleading version of history you've got there.
Ultimately, under international law, the principle of self-determination is supreme. The land of a people belongs to its people. To pretend that this isn't key is foolish in the extreme. Britain was ruled by Frenchmen after 1066 and therefore Britain clearly belongs to France.
Things change. The Falklands belong to their people. The fact that the Argentines are still pining over it is indicative of a concerning nationalistic agenda in their nation's narrative as opposed to providing evidence to the strength of their claim.

Oh shut up about the politics of the war will you? I don't care for it, despite disliking Thatcher myself. It's more or less irrelevant in this matter.
A transplanted population? That's never happened in human history before! Everybody else has stayed put forever and taken the uninhabited land as they found it.
The people who live there have lived there for long enough to call it their permanent homes. They go to the polls and exercise their right to self determination.
It's all well and good being anti-colonial and anti-British in all this but Britain and Argentina are both colonial forces. Argentina doesn't even recognise the right of the Falklanders to sit at the table for discussions, viewing it merely as a possession.

You're complaining about what exactly, sorry?
About the war or about the actual claim?

About the fact that they have been bleating on about the Falklands for the last few years and then complain about 1 little thing. They cant take it. I think Cameron should be asking them for an apology over their antics including the world cup.

I meant Mick Dee, not you gooner.
I do agree with you actually. They seem to expect this to be a one way street. My advice would be to ignore Argentina on this matter whenever possible. Let them posture all they like, it makes no difference. The Falkland Islands belong to the people who live there and those people have explained their position.
