Just start with the negatives to get them oot the road
Negatives;
First 25mins was atrocious, we looked extremely poor as a team and defensively it was shambolic.
McGregor starting over Forrest, putting in another pitiful performance.
Charlie Mulgrew, fckin sick of seeing him play in centre mid, slows us down and is an expert in losing the ball in dangerous areas, makes us look worse off as a team imo. VVD also had a shocker.
Final ball continues to be a problem.
Crowd booing, the 3rd goal was an irrelevance as we all, or most of us anyway knew Astra had done us a favour.
Scepovic? what's goin on there.
The starting 11 wasn't our strongest considering what was available.
POSTIVES
We are through it doesn't happen very often that we have European football to look forward to in the new year so delighted with that.
20mins of first half and 40mins of the 2nd half I thought we were excellent, I really did! Showed great hunger and desire to get back into the game when it looked like being embarrassing after 20mins. 2nd half we played with a brilliant intensity, as mentioned in the negatives though the final ball let us down.
Johansen and Izaguirre were the standouts in first half. The energy both, particularly Johansen shows, is an example to the rest of the team.
Leigh Griffiths, worked his socks off and had a very good game, should have scored and tired a bit towards the end but he gave everything and you can see the progress he has made on his fitness. Brown also excellent in 2nd half.
How good did Tonev look when he came on
Guidetti will be available for the knockout stages
All in all, delighted to be through with a game to spare and not have to worry about it, roll on sunday

Scepovic isn't behind Stokes. RD plays Stokes in the AM left position.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Guidetti is unavailable we play Griffiths, this was proven last night. I believe if Griffiths was also unavailable we would play Stokes up front.
Scepovic is very much on the margins and may not even be on the bench at the weekend.

We are crying out for Ki Sung Yeung in that role
Biton should be given a chance in there too. Mulgrew will no doubt keep his place in there for Sunday though.
I would go 4-4-2 on Sunday.

It's criminal that we are being exposed at the back though when we are playing with one striker
Salzburg played some delightful stuff

Sunday for me is just as important, fcking hate Hearts and as an Edinburgh based fan love it when we ram it up them, Biton or Kayal should be in before Pirlo Mulgrew, not hating on chuck but he just too slow for there

Totally agree on everything really in your OP RnR
How good was the blonde fella in midfield for them ? He had everything , pace , skill , vision and a fair bit of dig - he was nicely complimented by the guy alongside him , who just sat back, intercepted things and played it tidely
Tonev - great cameo , if that was the first time i had seen him in a celtic shirt i would be creaming my undercrackers - clearly has talent and pace
I think our first team line cost up
No Forrest was criminal - especially after his display on saturday
Mulgrew - playing him was criminal - especially after his display on saturday

The scepovic thing is a bit baffling
I think most on here have liked what they seen in him early doors -cant get my head around why he wont let this guy get some game time and a much needed goal

Smid All very strange tbh. Beginning to believe the rumours his missus hates it here and it's somehow affected Scep coming into training etc every day and performing.
CT Kampl, he's got a buy out clause of 10m euro and is for the offski in January. They have some smashing players and a very good team and play in an awful league, some of the players like Soriano must be getting paid well. Alan was class too.
McGregor btw, what does he offer? Feel bad getting on his back but he was dreadful again last night, need to be honest here.

RnR he was superb all night , any ideas whos likely to sign him ?
See even looking at their market value on this website
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/red-bull-salzburg/startseite/verein/409
they have the right balance of good players in good positions
Look at it
two guys upfront worth £5M , they two midfielders worth £7m
and the centre backs £5M and £2.5 M
they look like they have focused the team in the right areas - get a solid core and you'll have a very capable team
