I think a lot of americans claim heritage as they know the term Scots irish and think Irish. I saw a show last year on tv where they asked about 10 Americans walking down the street what they thought of when they thought of Scotland and every single one of them said Ireland. Now that is laughable, they do not have a clue about their own history at all they really don't.

I know the strife and struggle the irish went through and that we caused. We had the same with the Highaland clearances. I am not saying that was right at all as it wasn't and isn't.
