Loving the confidence being shown in as much as he only has a contract until the end of the season!

Harrogate, certainly his results have been far better than the other coaches we've had this season.

Take his results out of the picture and transpose the other coaches points per game and we'd certainly be in the relegation spots.

Shaun, why is it Leeds fans seem to think someone has to go somewhere else to earn experience?.

I'd have thought Leeds United was as good a place as any for anyone to earn a bit of experience!..

A sod when they do earn it by us and sod off elsewhere though, so here's hoping Redders earns his by us, because he is highly thought of around the footballing world, we wouldn't want to lose him to another now would we?..

Thompson signing is good for Redders and the club.

Everyone else in the league bar the odd side have an experienced manager in charge. Reading went straight out and got Clarke, Reading ffs. We coulda him, McCarthy, Pulis but no, a youth coach with little tactical ability. Get us an experienced manager with this improved side and we'd be a hell of a lot better off.

Why has he little tactical ability?

Look at what he has to work with compared to most other clubs, no wingers, no pace in the side and little experience.

Doing a good job.

Shaun, read and take in!..

This guy was nothing untill he took the head spot at Werder!..

Look at Werder since he left, but look at his record before doing so!..

I wouldn't say no to him having a crack at Leeds, but I'd say your boss wouldn't give him the chance needed!.

Shaun, we're never going to get an experienced manager because Cellino doesn't hire managers and no one of any quality is going to want to come and work for him.

He will try and do things on the cheap and hope he hits lucky one time.

I'd much rather have Redfearn, who knows the club, players and division, than Hockaday or Darko.

However, I'd rather have a proven manager at this level like Mccarthy, than Redfearn (if that makes sense bearing in mind what I said above) but it's not going to happen I'm afraid.

i think its a good thing we've hired from within this time!

hasnt done any harm to us before?? from what i can remember.

We've disagreed many a time this year Jonty, but that comment is spot on, undeniably so. Whatever the faults, rights/wrongs of Cellino - his history with coaches and "managers" means that anyone with a decent pedigree will I'd suggest not touch him with a barge pole.

The likes of McCarthy, Pulis, Clarke et al ... have reputations and will always get work - they don't need a permanent axe hanging over them. Plus they'd command significant salaries and therefore large compensation packages. Cellino won't contemplate that i'd imagine.

Regardless of any other pitfalls he may have, this for me is his biggest drawback. We'll only ever attract a certain candidate - and I suspect they'll always be a relatively unknown one - unless he changes his spots. We'll have to hope we unearth a gem here and there, that produce a team when we least expected it.

Maybe he will change his spots? After all he is in a totally different environment now.

He's seen sense to take on a right hand man to run things when he's 'away' - so just maybe he is starting to see that the English way of doing things isn't all wrong.

His trigger happy finger is my main worry. It's this he needs to deal with if he wants to be successful in the English game.
