Time to rest Adryan?

A good battling point, made some good chances but also gave a number of good chances to Forest and got the benefit of the doubt from the assistant ref's twice.

But there's quite a bit missing. Lack of team shape, bad passing, bad control, lack of movement, lack of strength. Adryan will be a good player, he shows desire and passion, but overruns it a lot and though he tries to get back and help, his lack of stature and strength means he can be quite ineffective ni that regard. He has had a good run in the team to show what he can do at his current age, but I don't think he is ready yet. But he will be.

The shape isn't there yet, and that's where I expect Redfearn to up his game. Antenucci has difficulty passing but won't stop running. Byram and Sharp looked good, Cook was excellent, Bianchi was solid, Silvestri was immense at times, but Mowatt was anonymous, and Tonge and Morison did a job when they came on. Maybe Mowatt did a lot more than I am giving him credit for, but they look like a team of individuals rather than a unit, which may be why it is easy to praise each one individually.

Something does need to be done, and for me it's down to Redfearn and his new assistant to do it. But a good point at the City Ground.

I'd pay 300k on performances so far.

Jonty, I've not seen enough of him yet. I don't think he has shown any sense of a finished article while playing in the first team yet. As for potential due to his age and not having played in England before, Redders will know whether the guy has the potential that the hype has built up. If he does, then yes, that could be a steal.

But I don't think he is showing what we are hoping he will eventually be able to do in the first team yet.

Long, I agree, and it's even harder to justify converting the other 3 loanees to permanent as we never see them play to see if they're good enough.

I see glimpses of things I like with adryan, nothing I like in bianchi. I keep hearing he's one of these unsung heroes, who you only appreciate when he's missing. I'd like to test that theory by 'missing him' for a while

This system requires fullbacks to give us width, but warnock's too leggy to get forward, Byram tried today but Antonio had him on toast, so he was wary. And as Pearce and cooper either both go for the ball or neither of them do, it's maybe just as well that the fullbacks tuck in.

Apart from that we're great.

Morison just needs a bit of time, he does have the kind of physical presence we badly need.
I do agree that they are not playing as a team, more as a bunch of individuals and hopefully Redders will sort that out.
The final ball is pathetic, usually consisting of a cross straight to their keeper.
Mowatt needs to be rested but the main thing for me is that we make use of the entire squad. It doesn't pay to stick with the same team week after week because it means you are predictable. It also means that some players are allowed to stagnate while others become complacent.
In a nutshell.. Rotation please Redders.

Jonty u have made some quality points tonight, not saying u dnt usually raise valid but dreary points. But I can relate to what u r saying 2nite.

The system is more at fault than the players, and this loaned system mwhereby none of them actually play....let's just see if the next 10 days shows us something different in terms of rotation.

Im a Bianchi fan and I'll hold my hands up and say he didn't do enough tonight. Made some good blocks but he's supposed to have a killer pass yet I only saw one or two if that. He needs to step it up.

Shaun, I think we will see a much much better Bianchi if the team played as a unit.

Think Adryan is expected to do do too much with the current set up. Playing in the hole works best with one striker not two in front of him. In other words we have less presence behind Adryan.

I would change formation to 4231 and play Adryan on the left wing. There is less reliance on only him making the runs from midfield. He needs time to find his feet.

I agree he needs time Yorkie, and we need to get the set up right, but we're halfway through the season and we need to start picking up points and playing with purpose all over the pitch
