Why didn't Wenger re-sign Fabregas?

Chelsea got lucky. PSG took a chance that Luiz would be as good in the World Cup as he had been in the competition the year before. They were prepared to sell him to Barça for 35-40 million euros so imagine their glee when PSG made that offer!

This is my point about people saying about Mourinho having a great squad before - he didn't have a balanced squad. Players like Luiz and Ramires are good players but don't really fit any type of system. Chelsea's whole plan was to break up play, get the ball to Mata and between he and Torres they'd score goals. Wow! What a fabulous strategy!

Mourinho sold a lot of good players he felt were unrequired - Mata, De Bruyne, Luiz etc but he has a plan. He's brought in experienced players who still have at least 5 years left at the top! He's made Chelsea more creative and resilient at the same time.

I still think their best chance of winning would have been if they had bought a decent striker last year - they could have won the Champions League and League but this year they are more complete.

Why not. Financial irresponsibility can kill even Arsenal. Taking a risk financially is not only a gamble that could destabilise the future of the club, it is also against FFP.

That transfer helped surely but I dont trust that alone helped Chelsea to get around FFP rules....
