Merry Christmas to you all!
Not too sure about yourselves, but as usual I'm not out on Christmas eve (most of my mates see it as time to spend with the wifey etc which is a bit of a pain) so I decided as usual to watch Sky Sports and see what they come up with this year - Golf tournament? Football Management? Masterchef?
This year as well as showing the best of Soccer Saturday, they've got the boys to sit down with Fenners and pick the All-time Premier League one-to-eleven. So I decided to rack my brains and see what I could come up with and I came up with the following team prior to watching it:
Schmeichel
Neville, Ferdinand , Terry , Cole
Keane, Scholes
Ronaldo , Cantona, Giggs
Henry
I wasn't too far of it, however the final team was....
Schmeichel
Neville, Adams, Terry, Cole
Ronaldo, Vieira, Slippy G, Giggs
Bergkamp, Henry
You can base your team using various factors such as longevity, trophies, impact or whatever, but what would be yours?

Many people have left Zola and Li Tessier out of their XI when they should at least one of them should be in the starting eleven and other at least on subs bench!

I very nearly put Zola and Le Tissier in. But the positions they play in are occupied by even better players. If Zola was as good at right back, for example, he'd easily be in there.

Also special mention to Paulo Di Canio!

As good as Le Tissier and Zola were there was nowhere to fit them in! Although I did consider Zola instead of Giggs for a while

I think Di Canio was a wee bit overrated to be honest, he didn't show up during away games (generally speaking) and was incredible unprofessional at times.
I agree with you about Zola and Le Tiss, only in England would a player with his ability only have eight caps for his country because he didn't track back or run around enough

OK Bruce you make a fair point!

_______________
Exactly, he would have been the focal point of other teams around that time

Going by performance and pure ability I'd go with:
De Gea
Zabaleta Ferdinand Terry Cole
Ronaldo Scholes Vieira Silva
Aguero Suarez
Going by performance and longevity I'd go with:
Schmeichel
Neville Ferdinand Terry Cole
Beckham Scholes Vieira Giggs
Shearer Henry

*thinking about it I'd go with Bale ahead of Silva
