Sam Allardyce openly admitted to resting players against Chelsea because he thought that he would have more of a chance of picking up points against Arsenal. That kind of defeatist spineless tactic would incense me if I was a West Ham supporter and I find it intensely insulting as an Arsenal supporter. Fortunately, he got what he deserved.... Nil Pwa (in both games)! Here's mud in your eye Allardyce.
Allardyce is also a self confessed Ferguson lap dog, who for years showed the same spineless attitude against UTD, when he managed Bolton, so that he could get his tummy tickled from Ferguson. I have to say that I have nothing against West Ham as a club and wish them well for the rest of the season, but I can't abide Allardyce.
Here's mud in your eye Allardyce!

Surely wasnt a good idea of big Sam to rest players for the Chelsea game. Was a bad signal for his players as well.

Well he was right, Chelsea beat them with ease. We scraped past them.

Better managers believe they can beat anybody on any given day and always play their best team. Other managers play the media.
Compare two long ball managers. Pullis and Allyrdce, Pullis took a poor team and made them hard to beat against all the best teams when it mattered last season. Allyrdce admits defeat before he takes the field. I know which team will quit on their manager first!

Don't get why he was moaning about the offside goal either. They had two players standing offside in the six yard box I don't think they could have been more offside even if they tried.

What a ridiculous article!
If you assume that Sakho and Valencia are basically interchangeable, Allardyce rested one player for the Chelsea game: Song. Which had it been a bigger club would have been considered 'rotation'. Really is a non-story.

Well think logically...Chelsea away who have never lost at SB under Mourinho (correct me if I'm wrong) or Arsenal who've been distinctly average are playing at Upton Park. Tough one.
You've gotta make these calls as a manager sometimes they come off others they don't. When they don't like today, Sam Allardyce is made a fool of. Had they got something then it would be said it was a great move.

Pretty sure he has now lost at Stamford Bridge. However, I think 1 defeat in 100-odd games means that your point still stands!

They lost last year to Sunderland. That shows that they certainly ain't invincible there.

Realistically with the amount of games team have over the next few weeks. You have to prioritize and lets face compared to Chelsea at the moment we're the easier option so Sam did what he needed to no qualms about it though.

Arsene's water bottle suppliers
If Burnley took that approach they wouldn't have got a point against Man City today. Likewise Southhampton would have lost and would have rested their players in the hope that they would recuperate their loss in their game against Arsenal. As much as I understand that managers have to rotate their squads, fans pay their money to see their teams be competitive and not just turn up as a formality!

Do you think Arsenal will play their 1st XI against Hull in the cup in a few days time? Not a chance will be rotation players and reserves...
If you go to a game around this time you have to accept that you can't be guaranteed all the 1st XI to play they may well be fit people but 2 games in 3 games is going to need a rest for anyone

Also, to the OP who suggests that Allardyce teams rollover against United. You do know that Bolton once beat United two years running at Old Trafford?
