The "panic buy" theory is one of the most widely used yet silly out there. We all know Wenger likes to do business on the last day of the season because he believes thats when you get the best deal/ when players become avaliable unexpectedly.
Ozil wasnt bought after the home loss to Villa, he was bought after we had just won 5 or so games in a row and just after we had beaten spurs, why are you peddling that Ozil was a reactive panic buy to the villa game, just to suit your agenda? The buys after the 8-2 again were typical Wenger last day buys, where Arteta was originally not avalailbe but then became avaliable later in the day.
You need to make your minds up, this entire article is about Wenger not reacting quick enough but then you go on to say that his problem is that he is only reactive.
Why have you put unlimited funds in inverted commas? You truly believe that us and city are on a level playing field and the difference is Wenger being tight dont you? Unbelievable

"If Arsenal had unlimited funds, do you think Wenger would operate the same way as we currently do in the transfer market? The answer is no. The reason why we cant address problems as swiftly and
effectively as city is finance."
That's total nonsense. More strawman arguments. This is Arsenal FC, not Burnley. We have quite a few bob. We were the 2nd biggest transfer net-spenders behind Man U in the summer, we've outspent Chelsea in each of the last 3 transfer windows, and we have an outrageous wage bill. An indecisive transfer policy with plenty of infuriating dithering is the reason we wait till it's late to sign players - if we even sign anyone. And trying to get clubs to part with assets late in the window often forces them to jack up valuations, so your logic doesn't hold in the slightest. Keep deluding yourselves everything is all about the oil money. Nothing to do with our manager's failures. You were the one proclaiming his genius after the summer window, when everyone else who wasn't a Wenger fanboy could easily see we were headed for catastrophe with the criminal negligence of our defense.

Another insanely deluded comment. Do you ever listen to yourself? So, if Ozil hadn't become available at the death, what then? You finish the window with Sanogo and Flamini as your only signings? What idiot has that as a deliberate transfer policy? Not even Wenger is THAT stupid.
Oh, and if you think Santos, Arteta, Mertesacker etc weren't last day panic signings....well....wouldn't even know what to call you.

Welbeck, Ozil and several others were only bought because Wenger waited untill the last day of the window. They were only made availible because of transfer activity elsewhere (Bale and Falcao respectively) If we had acted quicker we would have ended up with the likes of Ballotelli. We bought Sanchez early because Barca wanted Suarez early doors. All of these are proof of what you get when you wait.
Wenger made the best signing in world football this summer, that much is undisputed amongst people who know what they are talking about. Only the likes of you would call it a catastrophe because we didnt buy a back up defender and a decent dm. Our season is nothing to do with the failure to make those 2 signings and everything to do with having injuries that no team in world football could deal with

I cant really be bothered to keep responding to you, you are far too gone to be honest. Wenger has made signings on the last day of the window consistently for years. If you want to keep pushing the panic buy myth because it makes you feel good then go for it, ignorance and delusion is bliss

Godfather you talk as if these injuries are a new thing. We will have the same injury crisis next season and the season after.
For the last 10 years we have always been 2 or 3 players short and who is to blame for that? That's unless if you think we have a complete squad.
Yeah we spend money last summer, mainly on replacements but also got a lot back through vermaelen, vela and djourou as well the players we released

Do you really think arteta, mertesacker, Santos, benayoun signings were not linked to the 8-2 hammering?

Why are you talking about Welbeck as if he's some amazing discovery. What does he have....4 or so PL goals in half a season? Yeah, cos Balotelli was the only available striker in world football, wasn't he? I guess signing Welbeck at the death for his 4 goals after 3 wasted months of the transfer window justified the means, didn't it? I'll let you keep believing waiting till the last day for deals is a genius way of dealing. I can see how it's worked out for us amazingly. I also see how wrapping up deals early has failed Maureen, Fergie and the likes throughout their careers. They've always depended heavily on last-ditch signings for their little success, haven't they?

For the past month or so I have been trying to keep it civil with you even though I strongly disagree with your arguments. But each time you post, I am very tempted to start the name calling again because I find it difficult to believe you are being genuinely serious when you make these arguments.
So to avoid the name calling and to keep the peace I will give you some advice. Please think about the rationality of what you're saying before you press send.
