I am extremely pleased with the progress in the JFH era. Whilst the results are excellent it is the brand of football that pleases me the most. Patient, passing football whilst we try to craft the openings. If we have to go back to go forward then so be it. Wait for the opportunities and keep possession in the meantime. Superb.
It is a bit annoying that some around me on the terraces grumble when we cross the halfway line but have to go back because the opening is not there. Then again, they also used to grumble at hoofball so there is no pleasing some perhaps.
Robbie Weir is absolutely superb at the moment in his new role. Totally rejuvenated. Matty Palmer must be glowing with the praise he has got this week. Moose at centre half is superb. Quality man management and assessment of player capabilities.
The only missing piece of the jigsaw in my opinion is that we need a goalscoring striker.
Beavon is a quality player. He runs the channels tirelessly, holds the ball up well, brings other players in to the game, makes opportunities out of what seem like lost causes and is a nightmare for defenders. His league record shows he is not a goal every 2/3 games player though.
Jacob Blyth? He has his moments but isn't what we need in my opinion. McGurk? I wouldn't be sorry to see him leave. Knowles? A talented footballer but lightweight against burly league 2 centre halves. Maybe he isn't a striker. An attacking midfielder behind the front 2?
We are missing a latest league table. I shall try to do that tomorrow. There have been a few developments of note I suspect.
Brewers Match Predictor (26): Portsmouth

I have never been to Portsmouths ground before, so I am looking forward to this one.
They have bought in Tubbs, so we need to keep him out of the game.
We seem very organised under JFH and he seems to know how to get the best out of our players.

On the basis that it is exactly 2 months since we last won away from home, I am backing us to break that run. I will go for a 1.0 win to the Brewers

Spot on comments, Otep. We must stand fairly close as I too have been frustrated at the groans when we keep possession rather then belt it aimlessly forward.
Signs of one or two of the old habits creeping back in against Mansfield, but the wind didn't help and the overall trend is still encouraging.
Having said all that, we can't expect to win every week and Fratton Park will be a different experience with a large and partisan crowd.
Pompey 2 Brewers 1 I'm afraid. But happy if I am still bottom of the predictor league at the end of the afternoon!

This is really difficult to call. My first inclination was that it will be 1-1. Then I thought we will nick it 1-0. However, I keep changing my mind.
I am going for a rash, hasty change of mind at the 11th hour. We win 2-1.
