Not sure what you were watching but my guess is Crooks has given this for his defensive performance that was very good as it happens.

And he got an assist. I agree Valencia is quite pap but yesterday wasn't one of those days

Valencia deserves to be in the team of the week. Did a great job at RB over the weekend

GC TOTW is always a joke, I think he's employed by the BBC as part of some scheme for useless fackwits who wouldn't get a job anywhere else.

The amazing thing this week, is that he's picked Falcao even though he didn't score. Normally he selects 8-10 of the outfield players simply because they've scored.

When BBC606 (RIP) was running, GC TOTW would've generated a lot of debate on that forum, so was a way to encourage people to debate on there. But it's redundant now, GC is a court jester whose minimal humourous appeal has long since wained to the point that a King would've had his head cut off years ago.

Garth MUST owe Valencia money.

Vertonghen gave away the free-kick which Spurs conceded from.

Valencia is in there because of one good cross/ pass (be great if he did that more often).

Filipe Luis was quiet from what I saw, granted that was only highlights.

Falcao - well, the less said the better really.

Garth Crooks must be given the same assignment as Adrian Durham.

Dont know why people get so wound up/annoyed over his selections.

I like Falcao and think he deserves more games to get some sharpness, but putting him in the TOTW because he had 3 shots on target?! WTF

I don't get it either. I don't actively seek out his team of the week but on the off chance I do see it just think "meh", there's always one article on ja after the weekend about Garth Crooks, strange.

VC, he did well defensively, but I saw him up to his old tricks on attack with the run of pace and no end product all the way up to the assist, I don't see a TOTW performance. Grant it, Zab hadn't played yet, and I didn't see any other RB performances, but is that the best the PL offered?
