Yesterday's Result

Doesn't happen with John Terry on the pitch - not because of his defensive ability attributes particularly but because of his leadership - that ability to organise weathering the storm when the other team has momentum, which was needed yesterday.

Which is why we should really have already addressed the question, where is our next captain going to come from? None of the current squad, Terry aside, appear to have that ability to demand more from those around them in the way JT does. Of the old spine it's going to be him rather than Cech, Lampard or Drogba that we really miss.

On a side note, well done Bradford, it would have been very easy to cave at 2-0 down and just take a hammering but brilliant resolve to do what they did.

Dont agree with this at all, Newcastle and tottenham happened with JT on the pitch. He doesn't seem to get riled up and G up the team anymore in my opinion. I really think the ferdinand saga has had a lasting effect on him. Still a quality player, but cant remember the last time he has really pumped up the team on the pitch.

He use to really support and communicate with his back 4, especially gallas for some reason but rarely see i tnow.

Courtois seems to be the only player with that real arrogance for the job IMO.
But I don't want a Goalie as captain

We will obviously still lose with JT on the pitch, Newcastle was unfortunate and Tottenham his out of form central defensive partner had an absolute nightmare against an on song Harry Kane.

But yesterday wasn't to do with quality or luck, it was effort. JT would not have stood for it, had he been on the pitch.

As for not inspiring the team, i would argue that his performance away to Stoke set the tone for the rest of the side that night. He was inspirational and we really fought our way to 3 points.

Put him in the back four then TCP

I know it didnt work particularly well, but fabregas, seeing as he has that spiteful side, may evolve as a captain now hes older. He has matic next to him, so he can mashall around the pitch knowing he has matic to cover him. And, lets face it, he is so good on the ball

Apparently the Bradford team had all watched the Utd game in the hotel Friday and got inspired.

Utd's fault the useless.

Your right though, we do seem to be a bit rudderless without JT, especially when you have the terrible duo on duty in front of the back 4.

The last two goals Fabregas was on for Mikel.

I love JT and I think he's been one of the best centre backs in world football for the last ten years. I also think that it wouldn't have happened yesterday but not for your reasoning. I think Cahill is our real problem. He has been truly awful the whole year. Rash challenges, out of position, slow to react, doesn't close down. He was responsible for our loss at Spurs IMO (as well as some pretty bad luck).

Yesterday we had no shape and once we got to 2-.0 we sat back. It was then that the senior players - Cahill, Drogba and Mikel - should have made us step up a gear. To be fair, Mikel was OK but Drogba, Cahill, Remy and Salah were particularly bad. Even Terry's presence may not have made up for that.

I think Remy is a centre forward - so why not play him there?

Sure BK, now go take a look at goals conceded in our last 10 games with Mikel on the pitch vs clean sheets when not on the pitch. I have looked, have you ?.
