Over the two legs we certainly gave as much as we got over the two legs. In fact on clear goal scoring opportunities we could have gone through. Some wayward finishing and some inspired goalkeeping stopped us.
I was proud of the teams efforts and was happy we were able to produce two good performances against a team fancied by many to win the league this season.
Rodgers (who unfairly in my view) was panned earlier on in the season for some poor performances and results deserves credit for displaying the imagination and fortitude to change the personal and find a system to suit the players he has.
Our league form has picked up and if the players continue to apply themselves in the manner they have been doing over the last couple of months I see no reason why we can't improve further, especially with the imminent return of our main striker (who hopefully can put his injuries this season behind him).
Top 4 will be a struggle, but at this moment it's not an impossible task.
Looking longer term I'm convinced that our manager will have a better understanding of what the squad is capable of and can tailor further acquisitions accordingly. We have a young team and a young manager. I'm confident both will improve in time. As Liverpool supporters we need to give them this time.

That's why I think winning the Europa would be huge.
Kills several birds with one stone: 1) Gets us in the CL through the back door. 2) Gives us mega coefficient points and cash 3) Improves our stature in the eyes of players.
Joining a young squad who are Europa League winners is better than joining a young squad who finished 4th.
