Wenger: Very Good Moves!

I may sound like a pro-Wenger or AKB guy, and have got a lot of fire for this, but one just has to be objective, raise their hands up and admit that Wenger has really done well for Arsenal, especially lately.

Not only are we in the CL, with a good chance to progress to the QF, we are also firmly in the FA cup with a good chance to also make progress to the next round at a time when many giants fell. We may be out of the race for the league title, but we have a realistic chance of making second, worst case, third. Fourth might seem a disappointment with the way we are going.

Aside, we have done very well this transfer window, allowing fringe players like Podolski, Campbell and Sanogo leave on loan to get game time, while buying both for the future (Bielik) and for now (Paulista). Very impressive moves. Couple that with the fact that Wenger has confirmed that we are not done yet, then you begin to see why this man (who has taken so much stick from fans, pundits and ex-players) has really impressed. Not to mention that he is actively working on deals for Coquelin and Akpom.

I am happy with what he is doing and hope that he continues to do good things for the club moving forward.

Thank you Wenger!

The squad is definitely coming together. Hope we are spared more injuries as a sustained run is needed to secure top four.
Kudos to the proff.

Yeah sure, if you analyse the past few games he's done very well - the away win at City was a masterpiece.

Overall though, 5th with our squad is so poor.

So far, it's been a 6/10 season

Glad we bought a CB, though.

With Mert & Koscielny turning 31 and 30 this year, not to mention Monreal and Debuchy there too, don't want to be in United's position of having to get rid of 2 or 3 senior defenders and start from scratch!

Very easily pleased, so far, this season as a whole has been average. I'm optimistic that things will improve and believe another FA cup win is well within reach but Wenger has a long way to go before he deserves constant praise once again. We must start challenging in Europe, by that I mean getting to semi finals at least as well as lasting the distance in the league, not necessarily winning it but being in the race in the last 2-3 weeks of the season.

There's a long way to go, the signs look alright at the moment though.

Lets play devils advocate and give a negative take on the same info....

Wenger had a bit of luck lately but not enough to cover over the cracks of the last 10 years.

We are in the QF of the CL, but realistically have no chance of wining it, but with a bit of luck we could manage the FA Cup. Our players need to make sure they don't get complacent or let up or we are at serious risk of missing out on top 4, there are others in with a good chance we need to be wary of.

We've also weakened the squad by letting players we've had to use already go out on loan, theres a real chance we will get caught short on squad numbers with our injury record. And who have we brought in? A kid for £2m and a defender for £14m if the reported figures are right. You wouldn't see the likes of Chelsea or the Manchester clubs picking up players on the cheap like that. Lets hope hes working on new deals for Coq and Akpom, theres still a real chance they will go at the end of the season because Wenger left it too late and lets face it, we are relying on them to perform when we get injuries to other players and lets face it, they may have shown a bit of promise but are far from proven. Who else is he going to bring in? Another kid for the future probably!

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but the OP has definitely got way over confident.

Fairly pleased with the January business but the summer window to me is still unforgivable. Hope we go on a league run now and catch Soton.

He has addressed the cb issue which I am happy about, I feel a little bit deflated about pod and Campbell hopping off but fitting everybody in with the top quality forwards we have is a hard job. Somebody had to drop out and Wenger decided it was those two. Although Podolski is a terrific finisher he never really looked the part when starting a game.

Finally, we would definitely be in a better position if we did not have the injury disasters we have had so far this season, shocking stuff really,

Oh, I nearly forgot. We signed Alexis Sanchez, probably the best player in the league right now. Well done Wenger!

The whole point of criticising is hopefully that the target of said criticism will take notice, and re-examine themselves and their ways.
If, after some time no change is apparent, it is natural to ask for new blood.
This is the one thing the AKB's fail to understand. In all walks of life, constructive criticism should be welcomed.
If Arsene is really listening at last, and changing his ways, it is a great result for everyone, but the AKB's alone can claim no credit.
I still feel sure it is too little ,too late sadly though.
To watch a man you admire go blindly down the wrong path and remain silent is wrong on so many levels.
Arsene needs strong criticism, the more he listens, the better for himself and the club. But if this is just a flash in the pan, he should leave, with our grateful, eternal thanks for everything he did in the good years.

No, Wenger hasn't done well this season, due to his incompetence in the summer he threw away our chance to challenge and we are scrabbling for a top 4 place - hopefully we can recover but there is no guarantee we will.
It will be probably another season wasted
