Has there been a compelling argument presented by Cesc himself as to why we should have resigned him in the summer? Imagine you are Arsene Wenger and you take sentimentality out of the way and you actually assess Fabregas the footballer.
He looks half the player he was before he left Arsenal.Bereft of any sort of pace, no dynamism and hardly makes any late runs into the box. I wont ignore the assists and the fact that he has brought a bit of intelligence to Chelseas play. For me the biggest improvement Cesc has brought to Chelsea is to actually lift the games of Hazard and Oscar, particularly Hazard.
Oscar is an interesting case because other than a few really well taken goals he has been absolutely horrendous in his overall play. His decision making makes Ox look like the finished article which is disappointing as he is a very talented footballer.
Chelsea lack a lot of pace and I am surprised why Schurle has been marginalised.
Either way other than to mentor Wilshere and Ramsey I cant see how Cesc would have significantly improved us on the pitch, especially long term. Still a good player but I think Ozil and Santi can do what is required.
Glad we bought Sanchez instead
Was Wenger really wrong in not signing Cesc

==============================
Yes.
It is not an either/or with Alexis, we should have taken Cesc back and dumped Ozil if necessary.
Cesc is the best midfield playmaker there is - Chelsea use him in a different way but he is still their goto guy in the middle of the park.
It was yet another clanger dropped by Wenger in the summer

IG - a lot of inaccurate information about our cash reserves
arseblognews @arseblognews · Oct 16
IG - there are obvious reasons why we don't go public on what we have to spend.
arseblognews @arseblognews · Oct 16
IG - we're in good financial health. Summer is high point in the year when we have cash, but future 99% of future spending comes from that
arseblognews @arseblognews · Oct 16
Sorry £99 million pounds out of cash reserves NOT 99%
Like I said if you done your research you would find we only had 20m left to spend so couldnt afford Cesc and nor did we need the snake back but keep talking your usual anti Wenger bile drivel on myths and lies. Game set and match to me

Financially, we are in a fantastic position so I reiterate what I said before: don't perpetuate these myths please.
WE ARE IN A FANTASTIC POSITION THANKS TO ARSENE WENGER BUT KEEP DIGGING OUT LIES WHILE I STICK TO FACTS.
Read my post properly with regards to Cesc. I said I understood why he didn't and agreed with it at the time. But in hindsight it's not looking like a good decisions so I don't really see how that's having a pop at him? Try harder next time if you want to challenge me in an argument.
A PLAYER THAT ISNT HALF THE PLAYER HE WAS AT ARSENAL AND WE GOT ENOUGH QUALITY PLAYERS BETTER THAN HIM IN THAT POSITION SO AGAIN ITS EASY TO WIN A ARGUMENT AGAINST YOU BECAUSE YOU REALLY DONT HAVE A CLUE. YES IT WAS A POP AT WENGER YOU BEEN THAT BRAINWASHED THAT EVERY LITTLE THING YOU BLAME ON WENGER.
And also, read my comments properly before you use a scattergun approach to argue with me. I said Wenger's first 8/9 years were very good. We could have done a bit more but we still did well. The last 8/9 years have been distinctly average. He has achieved par for the course and no more. That's not an easy thing to do but it doesn't mean he has overachieved. Remind me which clubs out of Everton, Spurs and Liverpool should have been finishing above us regularly again?
NO FOR THE FIRST 8-9 YEARS HE WAS BRILLIANT HIS NEXT 9 YEARS HAVE BEEN BETTER HE PUT HIS REPUTATION ON THE LINE TO SAVE US KEEPING US TOP 4. AND FROM 05-13 IM PRETTY SURE WE WERE BOTTOM CLOSE TO BOTTOM OF NET SPENDING TEAMS BUT KEEP DIGGING LIES SAMIRA.
Wenger is definitely not an elite manager. I'm sorry but he is not even close. He's had a good managerial career but it will never be one I will ever call "outstanding". He's made far too many mistakes, in my opinion.
NO ONE GIVES A TOSS ABOUT YOUR OPINION. HE IS A ELITE BECAUSE EVERY CLUB IN THE WORLD WOULD DESPERATELY WANT HIM IF HE BECAME AVAILABLE. HE'S HAD A MAGNIFICENT MANAGERIAL CAREER HE HAS MADE US ONE OF THE BIGGEST CLUBS ON THE PLANET. HE'S BEEN LOYAL AND WORKED TREMENDOUSLY HARD.

Wenger won us leagues when it was only us and United competing at the top. When other clubs came to the fore, the league titles dried up. Throughout this period when Chelsea and City rose to prominence, he showed a lack of foresight and flexibility in his methods which is the fundamental reasons why we have struggled to compete, rather than using finances as an excuse.
Trying to downplay the great mans success because your a hater. Wenger won us the league 3 times because he is one of the best managers ever. The board know that and thats what matters not a spotty teenager like yourself who doesnt understand football. Im pretty sure lots of teams spent loads of money even back then ahead of Wenger including Chelsea and Leeds who both almost suffered ceasing to exist before they were saved. And the last 9 years down to stadium restrictions they are not a excuse it's a fact.

Rodgers may have been a flash in the pan, who knows? But to get a team who finished 7th to finish 2nd and come close to winning the league title up until the penultimate day of the season is a phenomenal achievement whichever way you look at it. Rodgers outperformed Wenger last season, no two ways about it in my mind.
Wenger won a trophy and finished top 4. Rodgers finished top 4 and won nothing after having no European football. Wenger outperformed Brendan Rodgers and there is nothing you can say to dispute that. Rodgers better than Wenger What a facking mug you're Samira.

Anyone with doubts in regard to club finances suggest they read latest Arsenal Holdings Plc statement of accounts (on afc.com) which evidences the monies available in the cash reserves.

So Ivan Gazidis has confirmed that the £173m cash reserves wasn’t available to Wenger as the Wenger out Brigade idiots on here and twitter have you to believe. In fact only 74m was available and 53m of that was spent. So we didn’t have money for a top class DM and world class striker. Yes we were short on the defender front but Wenger was trying to get a defender like Manolas in and ran out of time. He will try to rectify this problem in January. Problem with a lot of fans especially ours (WOB) think playing a game on championship manager and they know how football works. You know nothing.
The WOB probably still haven’t got it so got to break it down in baby crumbs for them to understand. £99m + £53m = £152m
£173m - £152m = £21m
I made this article a few months ago but it wont allow me to link it on here so I will paste it

Not sure you are aware of the healthy financial position the club is now in (irrespective of the spin spouted KSE et all).
Putting aside the information available in the club accounts, the AST, Swiss Ramble, Daniel Law, amongst others have provided comment on the very strong financial situation the club is now in (largely due to AW’s prudence).
It is believed KSE require AFC to have a certain amount in the reserves which enables them to borrow against. So no matter how much is available, it will never be utilised (especially not on squad development). Some of the reserves (it is believed) have also been set aside for the (potential) failure to qualify for the CL.
In reference to Cesc and Alexis (purchase) the club could have easily purchased Cesc even if there was not enough ‘cash in the coffers’ at the time to do so by increasing borrowings, however with the commericial revenue increases this would not have been required.
Barcelona’s last accounts evidenced that they still owed Arsenal £15m for the Alex Song transfer, which could have also offset any upfront fee.

Not sure why I bothered trying to have a discussion with you if you are going to continue being a petulant, juvenile .
I've told you in that post and many posts before why you're not correct in the majority of what you're saying. All you're basically doing is putting your fingers in your ears saying "la la la". Pathetic.
As for your post, it was a bunch of distorted, misrepresented, decontextualised nonsense.
Repeating the same stuff doesn't make it any more valid. And the fact you're quoting Twitter to substantiate your argument says it all really. You evidently have zero knowledge about anything that is happening at the club off the field.
I'm not going to waste anymore time with you. Have a nice life
