Scott Brown

Just watched the Old Firm game now and Scott Brown played really well.

Now I am not advocating that we go out and sign him but how we could do with someone in the middle who was snarling at opposition midfielders, geeing up is team mates up and generally setting a tempo for the rest of the team. A real leader in the team.

That is something I think we are really lacking and for all the talk of buying midfielders I think a quality that have to have is the leadership quality of a Keane, Robson or as today Scott Brown. I don't think you can overstate how vital it is to have someone there who can demand and get 100% from their team.

What do you guys think and who could be that player for us?

When he's played in midfield I think he's been very good. At wing back hr hasn't been good at all, but he isn't a wing back tbf

Blind is quickly becoming one of my favourite players but as a midfielder and nothing else.

It would be nice if he had a more conventional partner beside him, something I think he's going to need away to West Ham. I'm thinking somebody Spanish, mobile, tenacious and clever.

My guess is Fellaini will play.

"The Belgian lad at Roma, Naingolain(?) would be a great buy IMO"

He's looked good the few times I've seen him, very good.

The side we put out yesterday would have been far more balanced with Herrera in midfield and Rooney as the second striker.

It would but LvG doesn't always follow a logical thought process unfortunately.

In games like against Leicester at home, balance shouldn't be so much of a factor as we should still have more than enough to comfortably dispatch such teams but in games against better sides, this is where balance becomes more important.

I agree against team that come to Old Trafford that we expect to defend in numbers we should be much more attacking. That has been one of my frustrations really with LVG in that he has been too cautious against teams we should really be beating comfortably.

Yesterday was much better in fairness though and hopefully we can continue in the same attacking vein.

I'd love to see a side on Tuesday containing Mata, Herrera, Janujaz, Di Maria etc and really play around Cambridge and try and put them to the sword to increase confidence.

So would I although we had a good chance to score more goals and build confidence in the 2nd half yesterday and we just took our foot off the gas and played safe.

Not sure what purpose it serves doing that. It just gives teams a sniff. Needless really.

I don't get why do do that either.

Surely players would enjoy the freedom to express themselves when the game is virtually won.

I don't mean going gung ho at it but when three up the momentum should be with you and you should be going for more IMO.
