Tuesday evening isn't far away which, for Leeds United, typically means no points. So to keep you warm on a cold & frosty night here's another stellar edition of "They played for both sides..........".
Today we profile a player who's career at Leeds United never really took off but one bought to the club in a blaze of expectation providing the then manager with some width and pace in a team that sadly lacked both. Sound familiar?
Born in France but representing Mali at international level, this player started his professional career at Lens (the very same club that Olivier Dacourt joined Leeds United from in 2000). A natural right winger his career took off playing for their B side leading to a couple of loan stints at other French clubs.
In 2008 he signed for Reading and went to make 175 league appearances scoring 29 goals in five seasons. The man who scouted him went on to manage him and was the same man who, whilst managing Leeds United, decided that this player was the answer to our problems down the flanks.
Joining Leeds United on loan, with a view to a permanent deal if we gained promotion , in January 2014 he went on to make 9 appearances for the Mighty Whites scoring once. That goal perversely came in the game after Brian McDermott's sacking where Leeds United was under the temporary direction of Neil Redfearn and Nigel Gibbs.
It's fair to say that his time at Leeds United never truly hit the heights with much of his time here being blighted by injury. He returned to his parent club Crystal Palaceat the end of last season as is now a free agent.
His name? Jimmy Kebe.
For followers of the Mighty Whites.....
1) name the other players who've represented both clubs
2) which current Reading player would you like to see in a Leeds United shirt and finally,
3) Brian McDermott or Neil Redfearn?
For our friends at Reading......
1) will Steve Clarke restore your fortunes?
2) Eamonn Dolan, is he all that?
"They played for both sides......" is bought to you in association with www.ifeelforyouahitforbothchakakhanandyoungwakey.com and is your official unofficial plaything prior to the main event The Matchday Thread.
Enjoy.

1) Noel whinger Hunt and Ian Harte.
One we prospered from, the other we didn't.
2) none
3) neither

Ian Harte and wasn't our spare goalie Stuart Taylor on their books for a while...?
None
McDermott out of the two, he had a shiny head and was a pleasant fellow.

2) Alex Pearce & Adam Federici
3) I'd have liked to have seen Brian have had a proper budget and at a stable Leeds United, but the way it turned out it's a tough one to answer
Re: Jimmy Kebe, saying I was disappointed in the way it went was an understatement. I don't know whether injuries ruined him but he was not the same player from a few years ago who tore up this league.
Made me laugh on here when everyone slagged off McDermott for signing him because he was awful yet before we signed him everyone would have loved him here....unless you don't watch football that is

Don't let Redders hear that Eccers, he'll probably shave his head and then put it down to the reason we're playing well enough to take all 3 points...

I watch football and I watch Leeds United.
Didn't want McDermott. Didn't want Kebe. Didn't want Stewart.
Re Kebe. Johnny Giles would have bossed this league in his prime but would hardly do so now. Not being funny but with both Hunt & Kebe the writing was on the wall.

Yep, It's a good job some of us do watch football Stevie...

Luke Varney, best buy Barcelona ever made. 32 goals in 31 games is a wonderful return.
