Midfielder Chris Burke and defender Danny Collins are expected to be available for Dougie Freedman as he takes charge of his first home match as Nottingham Forest manager.
They have both recovered from minor injures sustained in the 3-2 victory over Brighton on Saturday.
Centre-back Harry Maguire is in line to start for Wigan after joining on loan from Hull City.
It is the last game of Liam Ridgewell's loan spell from Portland Timbers.
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
•The sides' previous meeting this season ended in a goalless draw at the DW Stadium in September.
•Forest have won only one of the eight meetings in all competitions, a 1-0 victory at the City Ground in the old Division One in May 2004.
•Wigan have won the last two meetings at the City Ground in all competitions, both 4-1.
Nottingham Forest
•Forest won 3-2 at Brighton on Saturday, after losing their previous two games.
•Forest have not won in their last five home games, and have lost the last three. Their most recent win at the City Ground was 2-1 against Norwich on 8 November.
Wigan Athletic
•Wigan have won only one of their last 16 games in all competitions. Their only win since October was 2-0 at Leeds in the Championship on Boxing Day.
•Wigan have lost six of their last eight away games in all competitions, winning one and drawing one.
I reckon 2-1 to Forest.

I do decent a Leeds like ability in them not to be able to poke holes in themselves at times.

There are a couple who take themselves far too seriously.
Anyway, it's all about the Reds tonight. Players earner a bit of praise again for once.

Great result for the Reds. Massively takes the pressure off the new manager, the team and (to an extent) the fans! Well done all. Night XX

Will need their wellies for the pitch at Bloomfield Rd on Saturday. It looked like a herd of cows had been driven across it looking at the highlights of their game v Boro last night. Expect passing football to be at a premium for the Blackpool V Forest match.
